Bedroom for a one year old?
Q. I keep going back and forth betweeen doing a theme for his bedroom or just pick out cute boy colors for his room. My son loves to read so he will have a bookshelf in his room. He has a ton of educational toys such as leap frog, etc.. I am painting one of his walls in chalk board paint but Im stumped on other colors for his walls. Need some cute ideas on colors and other cute accents I can putt in his big boy room. 10 points best answer
Everyone does the primary colors and I hate clowns no offense so a curcus would be no good. I definitely want boys colors in his room-- he is my only child! I want him to develop and strengthen his personality in this room. I am just having a hard time with the colors- I was thinking a blue, teal, and maybe orange or yellow but those colors are so bright!

A. If he loves to read, why not make his favorite book come to life within his space. We all become more creative around things that we love. My son is eight now but when he was about that age we had horses and he loved them. So I decided to do a cowboy themed bedroom and surround him with his favorite horses. I even stencilled all the horse's names on the wall and had pictures of the horses sitting around. My point being- he still cherishes some of his horse "items" left from that time of his youth. He has sinced moved on to sports but those horse pictures are still near and dear to him. I would play off the love of reading and make those books come alive or make some of the classics come off the pages and land in his room. Be sure to have him a reading area near is bookshelf. Maybe a a cute reading lamp and fluffy beanbag or chair with his name on it (from Lilly's Kids or pottery barn).

Q. My brother and I have to buy a present for our 1 year old nephew. I have no idea what he likes, I haven't seen him since August, and then I had to look after everything else (It was Dad's 60th).
