Where can I find a bedroom door alarm?

My son has a mental health disorder and it's been recommended in a few different books that we put an alarm on his door. That has made us feel highly relieved because we were both wishing we could lock him in at night but we can't for safety reasons.

We looked online and can't seem to find anything anywhere. We've seen indoor burglar alarms but we don't want to wake the neighbours or anything. Any idea where we can find a kids bedroom door alarm?

Here are a few for you, the first one let you know in another room if his door is opened so it's not too loud to wake others.

The second is for kids rooms and the third is used for people with Alzheimer's. But they should all do the trick it's just a matter of preference.

Can pumping cold air from the basement to a bedroom cool it down?

Our basement is very cold while it is hot outside. I have duct fans on solar panels pushing air upstairs to the kids bedrooms through duct lines. Cold air is coming from the vents upstairs feeling like air conditioning, is this worth investing in or is it a waist of time? The temperature seems to be a bit cooler than before but not much. I'm trying to find ways to cut back on energy.

I would think it would work. the energy from the warm air will flow to the cool air, making the air in the room cooler than before the cool air come.
