Moving to Cambridge UK from India?

I have a few queries on moving to Cambridge. I would be moving to Cambridge in near future (March 2014 ). For the same I would really appreciate if you could help me with the following:

a.I am moving with my family â wife and a 6 year old kid â what is the good area to look for a house â assuming daily commute to St Ives for work.

b. I am looking for a 2 Bedroom flat - which has common garden etc. My budget is 1500 GBP per month. Is this sufficient to rent in a good area in Cambridge

c.How do I get started with school admissions â can wait till I move there and then start looking for one. Kid will go in to primary school. Currently he is studying in Grade 1 in India.

d.My preference would be a state school â rated outstanding

Everyone's preference is for a school wih an outstanding rating. However, they are usually fully subscribed. The ratings have changed. Many schools that would formally have been rated as "Outstanding" are now "Good"

It's a good idea to keep TV out of the bedroom, but I doubt you'll be convinced of that wisdom. (It's an intimacy siphon and a distraction.)

Art book front cover?

I need to think up an art book front cover... if you can think up any idea that would be great, if you include the equiptment and materials needed that would be handy too but really I just need an idea. The theme is 'Sanctuary' so the title needs to be in it somewhere. It's basically about your own little comfort zone eg a church, your bedroom, out with friends, food etc.. in my first book I have a person standing with his arms outstretched infront of an earth and in the background reads 'Sanctuary' repeatedly and I didn't want to do the same idea again.

Well, it's a fantasy because it's not just a kid who finds a garden and plants flowers. It's about Mary and Colin's lives. How they grew up so differently, how they both lost their mothers and how they took refuge in their own minds. While Mary grew up in India with all its imaginative stories, Colin grew up stucked in a bedroom, having nothing else but his own imagination to have fun with. When they met, Mary told him all the stories she knew and described the garden as a dreamy place full of enchantment, romance and the story is told from their point of view. While for the grown ups it was just a place, the garden was a secret place for the kids, a place of magic where they could play and dream surrounded by nature without any grown up to tell them what to do.
I think that's why it's a fantasy. If not, then no idea, sorry!

Suburban kid or what?

k. i was born in this place called Alexandria, VA. I lived there till i was 6. it's 6 miles south of downtown D.C. i think there's a lot of criminal stuff going on now and people are pretty poor there. me and my mom and dad lived in an apartment.

then i moved to Loudoun county. and i thought it was a normal neighborhood and all. and we had a 4 bedroom house but that was only for 3 yrs.

then i moved to india cause my dad left and lived in a city. like inner city for 3 years.

and then i moved to fairfax VA. and now me and my mom live in a apartment.
i had NO IDEA that i had been living in the richest counties in America. i've never FELT like a suburban kid cause i never got what i wanted. we have a secondhand car. but im not exactly " hood" either.

THE main concern of mine is.....can i make it in hip-hop?
cuz i know all the BS people get for being from the burbs and all that .
What do you think?

p.s-......-be nice cuz I'm 13................and ya i know i have lots of years to think about my career but music is like my passion.

Don’t know what order they were in - but trying to become more of a lucid dreamer and wanted to know what this meant:

1. Me, my sister, two cousins, and three other ppl who are distantly related to me are spending the night at my grandmother’s house (my two cousins did spend the night at our house this night/the three other ppl who are distant relatives came over for thanksgiving). The house was huge, but it wasn’t my grandmother’s house. Also - at one point she came out of a hall and spoke to us. anyways- I was in the basement and the kids were up on the main floor in front of the big screen TV playing guitar hero (funny- they slept downstairs where my bedroom is in front of the large TV playing guitar hero) I was in the basement with some guy friends (ima girl) and one of them who I have no idea who it was made me angry and he stormed out of the house. Later all the guys, except one close friend I knew, left. At some point I was on a computer too. later, I saw that it was 4 o’clock in the morning and my sister and family were still playing guitar hero, and I turned it off (I did the same thing that night - they were playing till 3) I was angry at them and the guy, and so the group of guys I was hanging with and I are a pack of humans who can change into wolves. I changed into a wolf and for two nights stayed as one hunting down the guy that made me made. All the while my guy friend (whom I know) stayed with me. I was in a lush forest that was by the house for those nights. After that, we decided to go to home depot (??) to find a way so that when I become angry I won’t change into a wolf as fast. We find out a way b/c I dipped wax paper in water and it stayed cool? (Something like that) but we later decided to leave the guy alone (as a wolf it was very calming and relaxing- my guy friend was with me the entire time)

2. so a friend was dropping me and another friend off at our houses after a long night (don’t remember what we did) we first go to her house to see her new puppy (which she in real life did get about a week ago) and so we go into her house (which wasn’t her house) and her mother was standing in the kitchen with the puppy in a kennel, but instead of it being the golden retriever puppy it was a dark mutt

3. My mom, sister again, and I are at some event which involve stands and I think cars? And so we were going to go to the bathroom and then leave - when we go to the bathroom (by car) ppl are passing out flyers
Saying the world is going to end. I see the white gas that is supposed to kill us and tell my mom we need to go to the dome. (The white dome is where I used to play volleyball at) so we drive there quickly and when we get inside ppl had lost of clothing and stuff to stay alive with.

4. This is for sure the last dream before I woke up and then went back to sleep. I am in India with tyra banks and an India child. We are having a photo shoot on top of the buildings, and tyra wants me to jump from building to building to get a cool shot. But it is too far, says the kid. But the kid finds a poll that is to the side that’ll make it look like im jumping. But I ended up taking pictures of me and tyra. She says I smelt like a boy (and my friend told me that two days ago)

5. (Sort of lucid dream)
I’m at my school in silent study with my world history teacher who is making us laugh. I get up and take a shower by the door with my clothes on. When I sit back down I accidentally take a freshman’s book along with mine. I give it back to her - she has dark hair with blue highlights. I took her twilight book, and inside she had a lot of markings and footnotes. After the bell rung I went outside to say hi to some friends- the inside of the schools are different though. (We have 3 buildings at our school) and so when I come out of one building after talking, one of the ppl in my carpool comes up to me and says are you ready? I said no I need to get my books! I run and she says why do you run?? ( speaking about cross country, which I just joined this year) and as im running, huge dark clouds are rolling in. also, as im running I start off really fast, and then go into a slow mode but when I try to go faster I cant! (I’ve had this happen in my dreams ALL the time...) (Also the quad is unusually lush and green) I finally make it to the other building, and inside all the lights are off and candles are the only lights. So I walk in and it’s very old fashioned church/scary inside. I fall to the ground b/c im wet, but I don’t remember getting rained on? I don’t want to get up b/c im scared, but then the president of our school helps me up and leads me to the auditorium. our conversation was about me and how freshman year I was about to go somewhere else (which is true) and how I participate in a lot of school activities (which is also true) when she leads me to the place, a line of food w/teahcers getting some greet me. Also, someone who bugs me a lot is there and babbling about her self as usual

You have problems controlling your temper, especially when you lose. You have a friend that is the same way, but never gets angry at you.

Your envy comes out dark as you wish you had a puppy too, and make her puppy not so special. Hehehe.
3. You may feel as though your relationship with your aunt is deteriorating. This may be caused by a sudden change in life events, or your way of living.
4. You feel as though you have to go beyond your limits to impress your friends, but still that effort fails you.

Ummm...you feel as though your experiences are changing, and you wish your way of living went back to its previous state.

ok so last night i had a weird dream. it was kinda cool thought b/c i
have been trying to become more of a lucid dreamer (i loove flying :P ) and i had my "dream notebook" by my bed so that ill be ready

and this is what i got: (i dont know in what order the dreams are...)

I'm Puerto Rican - my boyf is Bengali - Any ideas on how to smooth over the family will be much appreciated. ;)

Hello I'm Bengali Hindu from India and you may consider these tips:

1. Family values - when you visit his home, pay attention to his parents and full family as it's very well-appreciated. Assist his mother by making rounds to kitchen - this will give you a homely appeal and personalize things.

2. Bengalis are religious people (but not all of them e.g. me) - if they're Muslims they are bound to be even more - so you might have to pay courtesy to their specific customs e.g. touching the feet of elders,

3. Do not be over-affectionate towards your bf in the presence of his family - kissing, hugging etc.- and especially if kids are around - it may be interpreted as lewd and vulgar - keep your affections in your bedroom.

4. Talking about SEX is taboo - so are words like condoms etc. I know it sounds backward but if you can keep them private, it's good for you.

5. If it's a Hindu family, Beef is taboo - if Muslim, Pork. Even discussions on those subjects are not taken kindly. However, you may be asked if you are willing to give up these substances after marriage - give an answer after discussing with your bf.

Why do people believe that the world is getting over crowded?

I mean, me being only 17, how could I ever truly understand all the aspects of it, but lets all get real, there is a LOT of land and space that is not being used by humans, and "over-population" is in the FAR future. Especially with government-funded birth control and abortion now in America (but let me try to not impose my opinions).

I think people freak out about the idea too easily, honestly the way I see it, we'll be too other galaxies before we get over-crowded. The norm in America is a 2-kid family, that is a birth replacement rate of 1 to 1... so where's the problem? I know that countries like India and Africa contribute to population growth a lot more than the rest of the world, but forreal... there is way to much land for so few people to use it all up. When surface area grows thin, we'll all just build skyward, and glorious cities will cover the Earth... Farms will have multiple layers and anything anyone would ever need would be in THE SAME BUILDING that they live! The future is an exiting thing! Population growth is something to be excited for, not scared off. But that's my opinion, now please, tell me yours! I'm excited to hear it!

People are concerned about the rate of population growth, it's geometric which is natural for living organisms. For example, the population of bacteria doubles with each generation because the cells divide, this is a geometric increase but this also means a jar of jam goes from being half full to all full in just one generation then the bacteria dies of starvation. It also isn't the space that's a concern but the resources. In nature, this problem is solved by predation, disease and famine. We've effectively eliminated the first two but there's no clear indication we can avoid the third. Also the space that you're occupying isn't just your bedroom or your house but the space required to produce all the oxygen that you breath, to produce all the fruits, vegetables, grain, meats and dairy products you consume. How many acres of farmland does it take to feed you? What about your clothes and your iphone, what resources are required for those? If we built a glorious skyscraper, put people in them and sealed it up, we would have dead people, the skyscraper isn't all the land that's required.

Ghost or imaginary friend? Help please?

Right.. I have a 2 year old little girl and a 10month old little girl. My oldest girl has been saying some weird things lately, Im going to explain what happened the last night.. The only was i can get my oldest girl to sleep is when she sits on the sofa with me and watch a sing a long dvd and ill put her into just before she goes off, but the other night she turned and said to me "mummy please don't put me in my room yet" and i was like "why sweetie"? and she said to me "Because the scary old lady keeps coming from under indies bed" (india youngest girl) I was totally freaked out, but didn't panic in front of her, didn't want her to think she had done anything wrong, she eventually fell asleep so i put her into bed, That night me and my partner both her mia talking to somebody, My partner was in the bathroom (opposite there room) and i was in the kitchen (other end of the house) and we both thought we saw Mia run past both of the doors and towards the back door, (next to the kitchen) so i went over to the door to put her back to bed, and she wasn't there? But i could still here her talking, so i went looking for her and she was sound asleep in bed?. Me and my partner swore we both saw a little girl run past? But mia told us she'd been seeing an old lady? It's so weird!.
But today we had a chilled out day at home, Mia was bored so i told her to go and get some toys to play with in her bedroom, she then came out with "I can't the old scary lady will get me" Im totally freaked out right now!!. I asked her simply "Mia what does this old lady look like" and she told me "she has a long skirt and her hair is dut dut (dirty)" I asked mia if i can meet this old lady and mia told me "No im not allowed to talk no more im playing over here". Im totally freaked out, and i don't no what to do.. i asked her if the old lady ever hurt her and she told me "No but she smiles really scary mummy i don't like her tell her to go home now". What am i going to do? Im totally freaked out? Do you think it is a ghost or what? I haven't really got the funding the hire out all the equiptment(camera's and stuff) Anyone got any idea.. I wan't to keep my kid's safe!

Your best defense is a strong offense in this situation. This simply means that you will have to forget your fears and face the fact that there is a spiritual manifestation occurring in the bedroom. Caution is advised here since this possibly is a long deceased relative who has taken on the great responsibility of being a spirit guide to one of your children. I would suggest you hunt up some photos of deceased relatives to show this little girl in order to identify this spirit.

Hopefully you can. Then your next step is simply to reason and use logic to get the spirit to cooperate and not to frighten the other child, who does not understand what is happening. Then all you have to do is to work together with this spirit.

If you fear ghosts, then you need to read the articles Protection From Ghosts and Fear Of Ghosts, first. Most ghosts do not need gotten rid of, but actually need Ghost Rescue. If you think you have a ghost but are not sure, then we suggest you read how to tell if you have a ghost. If you believe you have a troubled ghost with you or your family, remain calm and try to open up to understanding the ghost communications that may be happening around you. Often, a ghost simply wants to be recognized as existing - wanting you to know it is still alive before it will move on towards the light.
