Girl. whew. let me tell ya. haha Ive been an army wife for 3 years now and was with my husband before he joined so im not one of those "i married the soldier, not the man" kind of girls. which dont get me wrong-nothing wrong with them-i just know a lot of them to have a different point of view since all they have known is their guy in the military.
I know a lot of people will say "the show is nothing like it"...but in all honesty it does have some points where i think that they really hit the nail on the head. Is there cheating-yes. Is there crappy deployments-obviously. Are there amazing close bonds with friends-most definitely. I have friends that i have known for almost 10 years now and the bond with them doesnt even come CLOSE to the one i have with my friends here. Its like you have an entirely new family. When my husband deploys i know i am ok because i have my family here that supports me in everything i do. My kids have friends that will come and go but no matter what-they have friends to play with. If i need something i know that i have so many different people i can call that will drop anything just to help me out.
And when you see your fiance wearing that uniform....its unexplainable. not only will he look HOT...lol but the pride and joy you will feel is just..there are no words. Knowing that my husband puts on that uniform everyday to go fight for what this world deserves is just incredible. Its a hard life but its a great journey. All i can say is that it will get easier. At first you will be so thrown off by all the acronyms and military time and so forth but..it will get easier with time. I still have to ask my hubby to explain some stuff to me.
And again, about the show, it may be actors but they actually talk to army wives to get ideas for shows. i watched a "making of". :D haha
Like i said before-its a crazy life but i promise u that you will be a changed person from this experience and so will your fiance. Its a confusing life but it opens so many doors and opportunities for you and your family. (PS...if you decide to go back to school and he does join...look into MyCAA. Its an AWESOME grant that is provided to spouses. You get 6000 a year for school and because its a grant is pretty much free money. Between that and the pell grant, my entire associates degree is completely payed for and im actually getting a check for 300 after this school year because it more than covers my classes. how awesome is that? There are so many great opportunities in this life.)
oh and now i have to add thanks to what that guy put---
living on post is NOT as bad as people make it sound. If you make the right friends-its not bad. I love living on post. you dont have to pay anything and they cover every cost u would have including repairs and heating and air conditioning. AND you get at least a 2 bedroom house. What more could u want? I live in a 3 bedroom, 2 story, 1 1/2 bath house that is in amazing condition and i live on one of the crappiest bases there is! So i really wish people would stop complaining!

My bedroom looks too childish?
Kaori Hana
I'm starting high school next year. I know I am still pretty young, but my bedroom has stayed the same since I was in third grade, and it doesn't reflect who I am at all anymore. It has WAY too many stuffed animals that make me feel like its wasting space - its already small - and they just annoy me because I don't see any point in them. The walls are white and theres a lot of pink - pink curtains, pink seat, pink covers. I hate pink. I love red, blue, green, white and black. I love music, not selena gomez and taylor swift....also theres tons of cutsy little kid books on my book shelf and little crafts from when I was younger. And the closet doors have stickers that are all childish and worn that I can't get off.
I've really changed. I used to be super girly and delicate and used to love makeup and whatever and think life was about popularity and stuff...Now I play basketball with boys, skateboard, listen to REAL music (not one direction or selena gomez) and love jeans and t-shirts so much. I hate ruffles and butterfly decorations and my room feels pretty uncomfortable for me to be in, since its like a compilation of a bunch of things i really dislike (pink, ruffles, butterflies...) and its not fun to be in it anymore, it gives me a headache and makes me want to run away. How can I stop it from looking so childish and girly? But my mom is very girly and practical so she won't let me do anything "boyish" or something too athletic either. :\

After the upcoming holidays, talk to your parents about updating your room and donating books and toys in good condition to the salvation army.
This could be a great family activity. Everyone donates what is in good shape including, clothing, bedding, toys and books.Lamps and other decor is great too.
January is the best month to by sheets and bedding. You will see signs for " white sales " every where. That is an old fashioned way of saying that bedding and sheets and towels are on sale.
