Beach theme bedroom.Help with ideas.?

We are gonna be moving into a new house.I want my room to kinda have a beach or ocean kinda theme. One like where you can escape from the hard working day. Like the walls to be a sand color. I have a new bedspread that is blue and green circles with polka dots in them and pink pillow cases and sheets. I like those kinda colors, but should I get a diff. bedspread ( kinda plane ) like blue green or yellow? I want to have the words " world peace" or just "peace "cut out and made out of pictures and hang it on my wall the a collage ( how ever u spell it ). Idk if that works. I also want like relaxing pictures of waves and water falls and palm trees and stuff. But I still want it to be fun. So can you give me neat ideas for colors , furnature and stuff like that. Make sure it all goes with a beach theme ( but still fun ) .

Thanks !

( btw im 14 years old ) :]

My wife wanted what you are talking about. We both love the beach.I painted the whole room a sky blue even the ceiling. I took a can of sand brown spray paint and sprayed about 2 feet from the floor up all the way around the room it does not have to be a straight line. On the wall in front of our bed i drew and painted a lighthouse from the floor to the ceiling. Then i got a little darker blue and sprayed the water all around about 2 feet and then took white to make the wave caps. Then i sprayed clouds on the ceiling and about a foot off the ceiling on the wall these were all random all over the room. I got a little bottle of enamel paint they use on models and painted these ~ ~ randomly around the room they look like birds flying in the distance. I took the same paint brush used for water colors and used a brown and green to paint the fountain type grass in a few places. It took me 2 days a weekend it turned out great and she loves it . She showed it to some friends and i have done some other murals for 3 of her friends kids rooms. A Disney room where i drew a bunch of the Disney characters. All so did a sports room and a Jungle room they all turned out great. I am not an artist but i can look at a picture and copy it out of a book. Hope this gives you some ideas. If you use the spay paint which is fast for large areas cover the floor and have good ventilation i also used those little paper nose and mouth covers you see them use in the hospitals which you can buy at the paint store i got all my stuff at walmart. Every thing i drew and painted came from magazines.

Getting a new bedroom, any ideas at all?

Ok, so we're having an insurance job done on my bedroom cus it's next to the bathroom, and the shower's leaked into my room. Cut a long story short, I need my bedroom completely redecorated. I am now into my teenage years(was a kid when we moved here) and would like my bedroom to be organised, and grown up! Have you any ideas at all that would help me with my bedroom, what you find useful, or anything? Particulary, I am looking for some idea for hanging up my really long necklaces, and want to learn from my mistake of using hooks inside my wardrobe door to hang them up(they end up falling and breaking!) Just any ideas that you find useful for that, or anything else would be well appreciated! You might just fill a gap I need in my bedroom filled that I didn't realise how I did without before!

Thank you again. Any ideas, anything you find useful! Thank you soooo much!

A key hook board on your wall would work great to display your necklaces.

For a more grown up bedroom choose a light color for your walls, bold colored walls tend to make a room look child-like. It's best to choose a color from your comforter then add two coordinating colors for curtains, rug, accents and accessories combined with the wall color.

Arrange your room in separate areas and decorate in each area instead of randomly.
for ex.
An impressive beach/landscape wall art or canvas/poster above the headboard of your bed.
Memo board above your desk.

Mirror above your dresser or a vanity w/mirror.

To organize your room.
Go through your closet and dresser, clothes that are stained/torn throw away,
any that don't fit/wear give to friends/sister or donate.

When folding and putting the clothes you want to keep in your dresser, put socks and undies in the top drawer, shirts in the next, then jeans and sweaters in the bottom.
Hang clothes the same way, tops, then slacks, dresses, jackets...
Hang what you only wear occasionally to the back of your closet.
If you have a lot of clothes pack away winter clothes in boxes and slide under your bed and when the cold weather comes switch and pack away summer clothes. Once your seasonal clothes are packed away you will have a lot more space.

Clear off your dresser and organize your desk, use a jar or glass for pens/pencils and markers. You could decorate a shoebox with gift wrap for extras, crayons, erasers...
Stack game disks/dvds/cds, if you have many get a tower.
Throw away old/scrap paper and store the papers you want to keep next to your desk in a rolling file and/or storage ottoman-plus extra seating.

Get baskets for beauty items and a pocket organizer to hang over a door for shoes, gadgets, odds & ends...

Make sure you have a wastebasket and hamper.

We all have bad habits, leave things lay, flip our shoes off, throw clothes over a chair or bed/floor, leave clean clothes in the laundry basket...
To keep your room clean and neat get in the habit of doing things right away.
Make your bed when you get up, easy to just pull your comforter over.
When you're done using something put it away.
Throw away paper, snack bags and bring dishes to the kitchen.
Put dirty clothes in your hamper right when you take them off.
Fold and hang clean clothes fresh out of the dryer, no wrinkles and no more searching for clothes.
Then there's no cleaning except vacuum and dust when it needs it.
You'll love walking into your room all neat, organized and clutter free.
