Making sloped walls look bigger?

I am making my small attic into two open bedrooms. How and what colors should I use to make it lok larger?
Answer
Using a semi gloss white paint on the walls and a gloss paint on the ceiling will help the area appear larger, and reflect the natural and/or electric light entering the attic space. Even a very light dove grey would catch the available light. Use accessories, area rugs, and bedding to add color against these neutral backgrounds.
If you want to try a soft color, consider painting the walls a pale celadon green or a very pale powder blue, with white ceiling, molding, and framing. Link 3 shows another option, the color slightly darker, which has the walls painted a rose taupe with white ceiling and trim. For a different color blend, the Bathing.Info link shows shades reminiscent of the seashore. Another option is the use of wallpaper on the headboard wall with white ceiling and off-white walls to expand an open space; see the Shelterness.com link.

How to decorate my bedroom?
Sheel
I'm a college kid commuting to school aka still living at home with my parents.
I've recently decided to completely redecorate my room.
Basically after you walk in, the ceiling slants in like a triangle.
The only window in the room is on the opposite side of the door.
The bed is perpendicular to the window.
So far, all I have is strung lights framing the window.
I know I want to do a map of the world on one side of the ceiling with the quote "not all those who wander are lost".
What else should I do to decorate?
Answer
I love the world map and quote idea!
I was going to suggest hanging string lights and drape a sheer sequin curtain in your accent color over the lights on the sloped ceiling cascading down behind your bed http://www.walmart.com/ip/Beacon-Looms-Groovy-Sequin-Interlined-Curtain-Panel/16662997

But since you already framed the window you could hang the sheer sequin curtain on the window.
Swirling flowers decal would look great on the slope above your headboard.
