When I was young I believed America used to be the best, is the best, and will always be the best country in the whole world. Growing up I am quickly realizing that America is going down the toilet with crazy socialist, corrupt government, and lazy bums that just want welfare. If I don't go to college I am planning on moving to Switzerland and I would like to know if that's a good idea? Do they have any weird crazy laws? Is it easy to get a job there? Health care? Please answer :)
Answer
Hate to be a downer bud but when you speak of 'crazy socialist' and 'welfare'... fact is most of the most advanced countries in the world have what many in the USA categorize as 'socialist' welfare programs.
Take Canada for example, The International magazine 'The Economist' recently judged 140 cities and three Canadian cities ended up in the top five. Another international think tank deems Canada as the best G20 country to be a woman... yet we have healthcare, government subsidies and welfare programs a plenty.
That's a huge part of why many think such countries are top ranked.
Define 'crazy laws'
No special interest group laws like granting gays or lesbians or Jews or Muslims or Sikhs etc etc special privileges?
Counties like Canada have no such laws - the true expression of freedom. Intolerance for any reason is frowned upon and the government couldn't careless about your love-life or bedroom. Gay marriage, totally legal here. What do we care how people live their lives [as long as kids aren't involved in a bad way]
"Policies that promote gender equality, safeguards against violence and exploitation and access to healthcare make Canada the best place to be a woman among the world's biggest economies, a global poll of experts showed on Wednesday."

Three Canadian cities are among the world's top five most livable cities. The survey ranks 140 cities based on a number of factors, including health care, stability, culture and environment, education and infrastructure. Vancouver was the highest-ranked Canadian city, coming in third with an overall score of 97.3; Toronto came in fourth at 97.2; and Calgary tied for fifth place with Adelaide, Australia, at 96

Last issue - most countries including the USA wouldn't accept anyone as an immigrant without say, college or some professional skill.
A thought. You love the USA, so you should - great country.
Why go all the way across the world dude? Study in Canada, give a country with the same things your looking for in Switzerland a shot. Like it, awesome. Don't like it, the change of heart is only a drive across the border away.
"More than 90,000 students come to study in Canada every year and even more come to Canada to learn English or French. Foreign students bring a rich culture to our classrooms. Your knowledge and skills are welcome in our schools."

Canadian economy - terrific. Things cost more here than in the USA - but them again Canadians on average earn more. Inflation was down this month. Jobs are out there [I have 3 lol]
Food for thought perhaps.
Heart set on Switzerland, here's their Immigration site:

Best of luck regardless of which way the wind blows :)

Anyone know where I can buy the furniture for this room?
Soph
http://kidsbadroomideas.com/cool-bedroom-ideas-for-kids-and-teenagers.html (It's the seventh one down, the pink teenage girls room)
I want to get the stuff for that room and re-do my bedroom sooo badly but I a) don't know where to buy the furniture (just the big desk, chair and cupboard, I have a bed that would match already) or b) how much it would cost (how much to save up).
Please!!!! Help me!! Are there some shops (in Brisbane or Toowoomba, AUSTRALIA) or online sites I can look at??
AGAIN: I'm in AUSTRALIA (If there are some in America or England or wherever else, still tell me so I can look but I would prefer to have Australian things so it's easier to get to me :))
10 points and a massive THANKYOU to the best answer!!

According to the website, that modular furniture, made in Italy by Tumidei, is available in New Caledonia.

But if you have an IKEA store near you in Australia they have a lot of similar products. Or print out the photo and take it to a custom cabinet fitting contractor who could fit up something similar.
It would probably cost you at least 2 or 3 thousand dollars or more to create that exact room as shown there. But if you have a dad or uncle who is a good carpenter, you could buy standard wardrobes and drawer units from a builder supply store and they could make the platforms, bed and desk from wood and hardware and you could paint them yourself to match the colors. You might be able to do that for under $1000.
