Teen girl bedroom ideas?

.leonardo.

So I'm planning on re-doing my bedroom and for the paint colors I want to do either:

Peach with black and white accents
Peach with brown and white accents
Peach with green and white accents
Lavender with brown and white accents or
Lavender with green and white accents

I don't really want a boring room, I would like the colors to pop. I was also wanting to do a lot of pictures on the walls and a plain white duvet with accent pillows and blankets. What do you think is the best color scheme? Please give advice for any other colors! Thanks!

Answer
I find it much easier to make a beautiful room if I first pick out an inspiration picture I love, then use that as my guideline. That really makes getting your color scheme easy.

Here are some links I thope you will love. The first link is kids to teens, and the second one is adults. If you see some pictures you love, you can save them to a new folder on your computer. Then you can narrow it down finally to one picture.

Lots of us like cottage decor, so here is a thread on that with the most yummy pictures. They're not all bedroom pictures, but there are bedrooms in there...

Teenage girl bedroom ideas?

Ok so I'm redoing my room and I need affordable ideas. My room is 13 x 14 and I need a design that will work with that. I have a full size bed and I'm open to any ideas that are for teenage girls!

Since kids are going off to college soon, Wal*Mart has some real cheap, but real cute things for dorms which also works in a room. I just got the coolest zebra print bedspread for like 34$, go check it out(:

Ideas for kids bedrooms?

NeedAdvice

We just built a new house and we are getting ready to move in. I am wondering if anybody has ideas for themes for their rooms/ decorating ideas??

I have 6 kids so its alot to think about.

a boy age 9, a boy age 7, two girls both 5, and two more boys both 3.

one of the youngest boys i am already doing a jungle theme but i am stuck on all the other rooms.

any advice??

Answer
Jungle theme is so common, don't you think? I mean, no offense.
Make sure to include things the kids like.

For the oldest boy, do something simple but include things like hobbies. Remember, he's going to grow up quick and before you know it, he'll be in middle school, interested in other stuff. Pick colors he likes. Black or wood furniture sounds good to me. For decorations you could do posters of things he likes, such as video games.

For the 7 year old... I suggest cars. I think there's lots of things that you could find that have to do with that. For colors, cars mostly remind me of red, royal blue, and gold. I like the idea of red walls.

It depends if the girls are sharing a room or not. If they are not. Green and purple sounds nice. It would be nice if you did a sort of inverse thing. Like color one girl's walls purple and the other's green, one girl's curtains green and the other purple. Things like that. White furniture would look nice.

For the 3 year old, do a dinousar theme. Colors: green and red. I don't have many suggestions for this one.

What are original ideas for decorating a teenage girl's bedroom?

I'm a 13 year old girl interested in art and music and I need to redecorate my room. It is all pink and little-kid-ish and I'm sick of it. I have a friend who put Christmas lights around the top of her room and I was kind of going for that original style. Any ideas?

Answer
Hello There,

We all like a nice peaceful retreat and definitely our bedroom is one of those places. I have a 13 year old and we redid her room when she was 12 (last year).

1. We painted her room with silver blue and white (Behr satin finish). Two walls blue, two walls white.

2. We then chose two paintings (from Marshalls) One was a blue hues ocean scene with waves with a white finish frame and the other was a blue painted frame of teenagers playing in the water by the ocean side. It has more light to it. We placed that on the blue wall. We also added a silver oval framed mirror and and rectangular family picture collage frame.

If you really want a string of lights you can hang it along the window.

3. Her bedding is a mixture of different shades of blue, yellow and fuchcia. It is a very peaceful room..

4.We also put a small microwave kitchen cart in her room where she has a terrarium with seashells sitting on top of it. The shelves hold her school supplies. . You can find this at the resource below.

I wish I could show you a picture but it is truly a retreat for her.

This is not an expensive makeover. Follow what we did and choose your own colors. Walmart, Target and Marshalls are all great stores.Discuss it with your parents and
email me if you have any questions.

Happy decorating,

Romona

What are some good ideas for my 15th birthday party (themes, etc)?

I am turning 15 in December and having my birthday party. 15 girls are invited (no guys). It's going to be a day party I think, not a sleepover. What would be some fun party activities and themes? Keep answers appropriate or I will report you.
There will be NO alcohol or drugs at my party. It's going to be at my house, and I live far away from the town so we can't do anything in town. The oldest girl is 17, the youngest is 14. Thanks!

Answer
80's theme parties are the BEST.

attire, and decoration:
you can buy afro-style wigs(different colors) and give them out as party favors.
big green plastic belts. Bell bottom jeans. Aviator sunglasses with plastic frames. lots of bandannas. beads, or beaded gasparilla-style necklaces.
A disco Ball, or one of the rotating colored light ball things.

Music:
if you get your parents involved and have them help you find music, they will probably be more excited about the party and therefore willing to get you more decorations, and be more lenient as far as duration of the party, the volume of the music, the number of kids, ect.

Time and Duration:
My house is almost always the party house, and i ALWAYS start my parties a 7:45. might seem weird, but most people don't give it much thought, this however is VERY important to the success of my parties. the idea is that if you say "6 O'clock" or even worse "around 6ish", people will show up between 5:30 and 7:30. When the first person arrives, you will greet them, offer them a drink, and be polite, then you will sit around and wait for more people to show up, and they will trickle in... eventually, you will turn the music on, and people will be reluctant to dance, the whole night, will be "low energy" and "chill". If however you say "be at my house at 5:45, or i'll kill your dog." then everyone will show up on time (at least between 5:30 and 6:00, and you will be greeting people left and right, everyone who hasn't seen each other in a while, will be screaming and hugging, and laughing, then you shout "i'll be right back!" then go in the other room and break out the wigs, hit the music, and a energetic and enthusiastic evening ensues.
(just to clarify - it doesn't matter what time of day, just that you are specific about it.)

Cuisine:
since it's girls, i'd skip the hot wings and pizza, do something savory rather than sweet (i.e. cookies, cake and ice cream) as that would be putting sugar on top of sugar.
i can't think of anything off the top of my head, but if someone called me right now and said that i had 20 screaming 14 year old girls coming my way, i would make something that could spill and not stain, like rice, chicken, vichy carrots... i don't know, good luck with that one.

Activities:
1Dance off - for a prize
2Limbo
3Pinata
4this game is incredibly fun, but if you are embarrassed to tell your friends to do it, instruct your parents say "before anyone is allowed to eat, everyone go to the center of the room... now, everyone has to grab two hands, your right hand should be holding someones left hand, and your left hand should be holding someones right... now, without letting go, you have to untangle yourselves into one giant circle." it's best with 8 or more people.
5swimming - if you have a pool
6sardines - it's like hide n' seek, except 1 person hides while everyone else is in a room with the door shut, then everyone looks around the house, finds the person, tags them inconspicuously, and quietly returns to base... last person back is the new hider.
7i have a bonfire in my backyard every time i have guests.

avoid moves - not really quality time.
i also try to stay away from video games
8text bombing - chose one victim with unlimited texting, and have everyone send them as many messages as possible, at the same time. something like 'who is your daddy, and what does he do?'
(don't make it a mean message, or you could all get in trouble for bullying)
9taking pictures can always be fun.
10water gun fights, and shaving/whipped cream fights are also fun.
11donut baseball
12and shaving cream baseball (just use a whiffle ball and fill it) a tee might be a good idea.
13you could try to convince your parents to cover your entire floor of your bedroom with plastic and have a splatter paint fest that you could cover with paint and re-do next year.
14make-up party

good luck, i hope your party is a blast from the past!

ASk them what colors they like in each room and what is there favorite toy or animal what hey are into and you can get there old clothes and make pillows, add a favor it shirt or outfit sewn on the bed spread pain their furniture. Sheets make great curtains and can cover and old chair, top of a toy box. with 2 sided tape you can take that cute animal or character cut it out of the okd sheet or pajama add it to the wall. 2 sided tapethey have fabric glue or tape for material. Some old wooden toys can be screwed to a board and made a jama hanger or coat.

What us a good schedule and ideas for babysitting?

I will be babysitting 2 girls aged 4&2. They are very well behaved.

Answer
I babysit all ages (at the moment it varies from 7 month to 14 years) for all hours and generally stick to the same routine for all...

08.00 - Waking up and independent play while I prepare breakfast
08.15 - All sit at the table to eat breakfast
08.45 - Cleaning up from breakfast
08.50 - Getting washed and dressed
09.00 - Watch TV
09.30 - Painting or colouring activity
10.00 - Go for a walk (whatever the weather)
11.00 - Wash up from the walk
11.15 â All sit at the table for snacks
11.30 - Board game or jigsaws
12.00 - Independent play while I prepare lunch
12.30 â All sit at the table for lunch
13.00 - Outdoor play for over 2âs and put under 2âs down for a nap
13.30 - Craft activity
14.30 â Wake up the napping children and read together
15.00 â All sit at the table for snacks
15.15 - Educational tasks
15.45 - Independent play
16.00 - Group game
17.00 - Independent play while I prepare dinner
17.30 â All sit at the table for dinner
18.00 - Watching a film
18.30 - Bath time for under 10's and over 10's continue with the film
19.00 - Bedtime for under 5's and over 5's return to film
19.30 - Reading with over 5's
20.00 - Bedtime for 5-10's and reading with over 10-12's and TV for over 12âs
20.30 - Bedtime for under 12âs and reading for over 12âs
21.00 â Bed time for under 14âs.

You can then spend the rest of your evening ensuring the house is cleaned up from the days activities and that the children remain in their beds.

Independent play â This is when you leave the children to play by themselves, keep them within eye shot and supervise what they are doing but allow them to explore their own imagination. Two and five year old girls will usually play make believe something still and quiet. This is your opportunity to catch your breath from the day and to get on with the other chores you need to do.

Go for a walk â No matter what the weather is you should always get the kids outside! This is important because children need fresh air and when they are trapped inside they become more easily agitated and bored. Donât forget to wrap them up warm if it is raining or take a hat of it is sunny. You may consider collecting leave, pine cones, etc to create a nature collage at your afternoon craft project.

Outdoor play â If you have napping children then remember to take a baby monitor into the garden with you and to leave their bedroom window open in case they wake up. Outdoors you should get the kids running around to wear them out, play with a ball or race them around etc.

Educational tasks â This could include a worksheet you have printed off the internet (Just Google âkidâs worksheetsâ and youâll find tonnes) or a colour matching game for younger children.

Group game â This is also important a good game is a treasure hunt, or hide and seek, something everyone can do together.

How can I make my bedroom a Scene kid bedroom?

GracieGaug

Well, I'm nowhere as beautiful as the scene girls and boys but i really do like their work :P
and im interested in the style they have, so i really want to know how i can contribute that beauty into my room. I have awhile to paint my room and do stuff to it, my deadline is spring(: so any helpful suggestions would be great. could you show me any pictures? art styles? paint color? something? those would be nice, thank you!

Answer
Look out for some really cool, vintage furniture pieces at charity stores or whatever, get some really classic, unusual curtains too, or you could make some out of fabric from a fabric store, pick out some that you like which could be black (black would make good curtains).

Get a load of posters of bands you like and stick them up on the walls, depends where you live, but AllPosters.co.uk has a large selection and their prices are quite fair, so you could take a look there.
As for paint, I'd say hot pink - or maybe you could wallpaper one wall - I saw this one scene girl's bedroom and she had hot pink and white striped wallpaper, which looked really cool.

Also, you should hang a load of your clothes off the front of your wardrobe, that can really improve a room. You could get a string of christmas tree lights too and string them up (they'll be cheap this time of year).

I think that would be a good start. Hope I gave you a few ideas :)
