Lovin' Lif
We have just recently moved into our first two story home, which is alot different than expected from a one story. Before, my son (who will be 3) had his room just down the hall and he could play in and out of his room during the day as he pleased. We would just clean up at the end of the night. So anyways, now since his bedroom is upstairs, we can no longer do that and he is too young too play upstairs unsupervised. So what is a good idea for all of his toys? It pretty much just leaves his bedroom empty? I had thought about making his bedroom a quiet place, maybe a small shelf with books and a reading rug. A place for quiet and sleep. I'm not sure yet. I just wanted to get some different ideas from everyone. On another note, I am setting up my daughters (6 months old) bedroom for the first time. What are some very cheap and cute ideas for a baby girls room? Any and all answers will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

As for your son, making a bedroom for that age, into a quiet place is a great idea, and keeping toys in a play room or area where you can supervise. If you feel like the room looks to empty, bookshelves could be good and you could decorate the room so that its themed, my five year old daughter wanted a space themed room, the walls are painted a dark blue color with lots of planets and constillations in light colors, with glow in the dark stars. there isn't a whole lot in her room besides clothign and her bed stuff, because we have a play room, but the decorations make it seem more personal and not just like a room she has to in to sleep.
As for a cheap girls room, I have a lot of great ideas for that, I was 15 when my first daughter was born, and we lived on our own, so cheap and cute is the world I live in. We painted her room a really light creamy yellow color, and made a boarder in the middle of the room using a strip of lace, which we painted over with pink paint, it makes a really cool texture and then lined that with gold. Kids that age don't need a whole lot in their room yet, so all I really had other then the basic cribe and changing table, was a rocking chair (which I got at a thrift store and redid), a really soft area rug for when your on the floor with her and a lamp that gave off a decent amount of light, that way when I was trying to get her to sleep I didn't have to use the over head light which was so bright, and could leave that on once she started sleeping their alone.
Hope those ideas help a little.
