What priviledge does a single-mom have with the bedroom size with a boy and girl?

Q. I am a single mom of a boy age 8 and a girl age 10. We have lived in my mothers's basement sharing the same space for 6 years, now we have a 2 bedroom apartment and I being the parent took the larger room and gave the children the smaller room. I have not received to much applause for doing that from the grandparents but everyone else, such as friends and my sister thinks it's the priviledge of being the parent and the children should graduate to a larger room after cleaning and learning to keep their smaller room in order. I just want to know what others think about this set up I have with my kids.

A. If it were me, I would take the smaller room since they are sharing one.

Anyone have any creative ideas involving housing a family of four in a two-bedroom apartment?
Q. There are two adults and two children (ages 8 and 6) in the family, and I'm looking for a cteative way to house us in a two-bedroom apartment. Since I have one girl and one boy, each has one bedroom right now, and my boyfriend and I sleep on a futon in the living room and I share the closet with my daughter, he shares the one in my son's room. It's nice for the kids because they each have a fairly large room to themselves, but my boyfriend and I don't have much privacy! I'm trying to think of other ways to make the situation work....and we're looking at another apartment, also with only 2 bedrooms (because getting a three-bedroom where we live is very difficult and it costs almost twice as much as a two-bedroom!). Anwyay, this new apartment we're considering has one of it's bathrooms in the master bedroom, which means whichever kid gets that room will get the bathroom and the other three of us will have to share the remaining bathroom. Is there another way we could set things up?
We like where we live (a block from the beach) and don't want to move to another area!! :P
I really don't feel it's appropriate for an 8 year old girl and a 6 year old boy to be sharing a room (in fact, in some states, it's illegal, if I'm not mistaken!)

A. Yes, I know it's taboo and you may be giving them ideas that they can do what you and your boyfriend do. On the assumption that you and your boyfriend are their parents then you can use the, mommies and daddies sleep in the same room concept or you don't do this until you're reached age ___. I don't like the idea of room sharing/division in such a skewed way as you're suggesting with a master bathroom.

You can use room partitions or a camping theme and put the kids in the same room. Bunk beds will give it a more camp like theme.

Or, you can use a princess/knight concept. Knights are the protectors of their ladies, therefore there isn't any "weird" message. However, each of their bunks could have curtains or sheers of some sort from modesty.

Or you could blend the two.

You could also have them pretend they are cars from the movie Cars. I don't believe they show any of the Cars sharing a "garage" in the movie.

That's my two cents. Hope it helps.

What are some good room themes for teens?
Q. I am a teen girl wondering. I don't know what room theme to get. I also would like to know about what kind of furniture to get. I want decorating ideas and themes! I love all colors! my fave color is blue! I am interested in animals, music, Hollywood, and lots of other stuff! Thanx for all ur help!

A. How about a theme of old hollywood? That sounds good to me, here are a few sites:
