What are some ideas for goth home decor in military housing?

Q. I cannot paint the walls, and I am sick it of the boring feeling I get just sitting in the house.

A. You have options depending upon the cost factor - and I have seen all of the listed on Ft Bragg at some point in the past year

1) Peel & Stick Wall Art - just search for it
2) Fabric Walls - use curtain rods and/or rope to suspend panels of fabric from the walls or ceiling
3) Screens - either store bought or make your own
4) Traditional Wall Art like tapestries
5) Use one wall for bookshelves and/or entertainment center.

and at least one home has (this lady is very "crafty")

6) Long sheets of paper taped up in the kids room that has been turned into a mural
7) Plywood free standing "walls" painted and decorated in the living room,
8) And a foam board cloth "wall" in the master bedroom.

Or if you are going for the goth style - try the reverse and go very very white with black & red accents. Stunning if done well.

How can I hang family pictures in the living room?
Q. Hello. I live in a house that has an open floorplan and it lacks a lot of wall space. There is not much hallway in between bedrooms and no extra walls anywhere. I am quickly accumulating pictures of my kids, husband, etc and am running out of wall space. Would it be bad to create a wall in the living room or dining room with just family photos? Right now I have a beautifully decorated living room. But I really want to display these pictures. Anyone have any good advice? There are about 25 framed photos.

A. 25 is too much to hang in living room, maybe you can hang them on a one side of hallway.

Is there a Website that offers Bedding and other Bedroom decor in a Classical Music Theme?
Q. I desperatly need a new look for my bedroom and I am a Classical Musician. So I was wondering is there anything out there to help me?

A. Choose deep serene colors for the wall, such as smoky gray or burgundy then add music wall art in silver or gold tones, respectively, to add contrast.

Change things up for classical music aficionados with framed classical musical scores, busts of Mozart or Beethoven set on floor pedestals and cast resin grilles above doorways and windows that recreate the look of elegant plastered reliefs. Paint them in a hue that is similar to the wall color in order to make it look as though an artisan has created them on site.

All kinds of musical themed home decor here:

As for bedding, there is more geared toward kids for this theme. If you prefer a more adult look, I'd suggest going with plain bedding that coordinates with the walls, and add music inspired pillows. If you add a lot of other musical decor to the room, the bedding might just be overkill. The site I've provided above will have nice classical looking music note inspired pillows that would look nice added to a solid color bedding set. You might also want to consider purchasing their musical throw and adding it to the bottom of the bed for a pop of design there as well.

Can you tell me some ways to organize a kid's room in a pretty way?
Q. Can you tell me some ways to organize a kid's room in a pretty way?

A. Creating a jungle theme kids bedroom is an opportunity to use really fun colors and prints. Consider painting the room a fresh green or a bright yellow to provide a warm and exotic backdrop for the rest of the room's elements.

Instead of typical window treatments, think about getting some silk vines and foliage from the craft store and draping them around the windows as you would with a scarf curtain. Then perch stuffed parrots or monkeys nearby to round out the jungle canopy effect.

You can use jungle themed bedding, or simply use bright solids and stripes, and accent the room with throw pillows in animal-print fabrics. There are several sources for wall stickers in a jungle theme to add even more visual interest.

Fairy Tale Princess Themes

Many elements of décor for little girls' rooms lend themselves to dreaming of once upon a time and far, far away. From canopy beds to eyelet and lace and pale pink, you may already have many of the elements in place to make your daughter's room a real Princess's room. To bring the fantasy one or two step closer to reality, rely on some paint techniques and a few choice accessories.

Paint the ceiling a sky blue and sponge paint on some clouds; turn the walls of your girl's room into castle walls with faux painting techniques, and embellish them with stenciled runners of ivy you can even add some silk ivy from the craft store for additional dimension. Swath tulle or silk flowers where you'd otherwise put a valance and curtains, and be sure to add a stuffed frog prince someplace in the room just for a bit of whimsy!
