Benji Nolan Grey (BNG!)?

First off, what do you think of that name? I don't have very many B names for boys and that's probably my favorite for boys.
Anyway, I made a Baby Name Game yesterday and people seemed to like it so I'll make another one-it gives me lots of good name ideas!

1. You are 17 years old and about to be a senior in highschool when you are given the oppurtunity of a lifetime to be a nanny in Tuscany,Italy for the summer! While caring for children there, you meet a handsome, young Italian boy your age who even speaks English. What's his name?
2. Two months later, you and the Italian boy have grown quite close. You have to leave in a week, so the family you're staying with gives you a break from nannying. The Italian boy is quite upset that you're leaving, and he guilt trips you into going farther with him than you had ever planned....
3. One month later. You're back home and you and your Italian boyfriend constantly talk. This makes you glad, but you haven't been feeling well. You're shocked when you learn that you're pregnant! When you tell your boyfriend,he stops contacting you altogether. You're heartbroken, but decide to keep the baby with your parent's support.Weeks before school lets out, you have a baby girl.Since you're a teenager, you're really into names that are either completely trendy ( http://baby-names.familyeducation.com/topnames/girls/ ), or completely unique(variations of any names are up to you). Name her one of the two with an Italian middle name(for her father)
4. Four years later, you've managed to beat the odds and graduate college. What major was it, and what job do you have now? You and your daughter move into a new, four bedroom home in a quaint neighborhood. Your four year old is happy and the bills are paid, but you feel lonely....
5. When you start working, you're surprised to find that you know one of the employees there. A sweet, cute, sort of shy guy who you had some classes with. What's his name? You two hit it off instantly and form a close bond, becoming an item.
6. A year later, things with your boyfriend are great. He and your daughter have bonded amazingly-she even gave him a card for Father's Day. When he proposes, you are thrilled! Where is the wedding and honeymoon?
7. After coming back from your honeymoon, you and your husband start talking about having kids. But first you two decide to see a doctor just to make sure it's possible between you two. You are heartbroken when you learn that you will need to seek fertility treatments due to problems your husband has. The feeling soon turns to relief, however, when one month later you become pregnant with a baby. Nine months later, you're happy when you have another daugher, and a little sister for your six year old. Your husband considers this baby his second as the first daughter really is like his own. Name the baby anything you like, with two middle names. The second middle name is a combo of you and your hubby's name.
8. One year later, you have a seven year old and a one year old. You and your husband start thinking about having just one more baby.So you go through Fertility Treatments again. It takes months before you become pregnant, and it still isn't anything what you were hoping for-sextuplets!But you and your hubby are strongly against selective reduction so you decide that you will make this family work at any cost. You must make a decision-do you keep working even after the babies are born and get nannies to watch the kids,or do you quit and become a stay at home mom?
9. 30 weeks later, the babies are brought into the world. Despite being born so early, they are in stable condition-it looks like they'll be okay. There are three girls and three boys, and the initials are EA, EF, MJ, JO, JH ,WJ

I hope you liked this game, I'm gonna post a link to the second part of it as soon as I finish it. It'll be good I promise!

Chores for a 7, 9 & 12yr old? Things to do for money?

Q. Are these chores ok?

Alicia - 12
Helps at my moms stables with my 13y/o sister 'Mucking out'
Helps siblings with homework
Locks the gates at night
Gets the post from the top of the drive
And when she gets he dog she will pay vet bills, grooming fees and for any toys, bowls, brushes, collars etc. I wont make her pay for food because I order in food for my dog, so they can eat the same food.
Must tidy up after herself

Jacob- 9
Puts away the bikes, quads, dune buggies before bed
Reads his sister a bed-time story
Takes washing off the line
Entertains his sister when we are busy & Helps her
Must tidy up after himself
Puts lunches in school bags every morning

Ellen - 7
Helps her big sister when she needs help (my fiancé)
Helps my mom Shopping (We live with my parents because our house isn't ready and she loves my mom because she doesn't have a mom anymore).
Waters her flowers (In her bedroom)
Tidies up her messes

We have to put this in practise, because this is their 1st real week living with us, this is their old chore list with chores swapped (Things that they no longer need to do, with new things).
Alicia gets â¬30 a week
Jacob gets â¬20 a week
And Ellen gets â¬10 per week.

And they can get bonuses for certain things (Good tests etc.)

Is that enough? There's nothing else for them to do, especially living at my moms with all my siblings. But even in our own house there wont be much else because we have gardeners and housekeepers.....
We live in Ireland (We are from the Uk, we're from London) and we're moving back in the coming months.
And they currently are not attending school because they are grieving after the loss of their mom.
And all those chores and for everyday. Alicia only 'mucks out' every few days and Jake rarely has to take care of her sisters.
In London we had the milkman every morning, in Ireland we have to go to the shop :(
That's a reason I can't wait to be back in the Uk!

Answer
Why are you paying them in euros if you live in America ? (And if you are pretending to live in England, they use pounds there, fyi).

I don't pay my kids to do chores because I think chores are part of family life. So, yes that's definitely enough (probably too much actually). I think those chores are reasonable.

EDIT: Fine the Republic of Ireland it is. Here are some more ideas:
Alicia: do everyone's laundry, wash the dishes, make the last meal of the day
Jacob: dry the dishes, fold the laundry, take out the garbage
Ellen: take the laundry upstairs, clear the table after dinner, fetch the milk when the milkman brings it

Teens: Any suggestions for decorating my room?

Q. I have a tiny bedroom so I'm limited, my walls are pink and I hate them. I have a single bed, a two-door wardrobe, a study desk, a standard lamp and a chest of drawers with a standing mirror beside them and built in shelving. My furniture doesn't match and they're really old (I've had the drawers and wardrobe for 11 years) and they're covered in drawings from when I was a kid. I want to cover my walls with posters and stuff but I want a cute duvet cover, I think I want my walls to be white and I want white floorboards but the rest I don't know. Does anyone know any websites to get cute furniture (that deliver in the UK and Ireland), and any suggestions?
I love:

-Tom Felton and Emma Watson
-Books
-Perks of being a wallflower
-The colours pink and white

I need to change everything, from lamps and lampshades to furniture to rugs and duvet covers and decoration. Everything! & I'm 14 but I don't want it to look childish

Answer
Okay, what if you did like a lime green for your wall (the color of the book for The Perks) and then you did your favorite quote from the book on the wall. I think that would be so awesome. Instead of having the regular ones like "Live Laugh Love," create your own and make it a quote from the book. I think that'd be awesome.
I guess you could also fill your shelves with books. But, or even if you didn't paint your walls lime green, white would be cool still too but I like the idea of the quote on the wall. That would be awesome (:

Jam Jar

Im 21 and im cracking up, everyone constantly pushes me around and tells me what to do, I moved in with my brother last September for college, I was paying my share of rent, never missed my share of the bills, and was never late in giving money or ever borrowed, I got an apartment with my brother and his girlfriend and it was the worst year of my life, they did nothing but push me around, give out to me, call me names and put me down. My brother even told me that I was in HIS apartment and I had to do what he says. Even though I was paying my fair share of rent and bills and had payed my deposit. I would go home at weekends and when I came back I would notice things moved or missing from my room, my brothers girlfriend would lend out my clothes to her friends when I wasn't there, even though I told them not to go into my room. That is my private space, I cant stand other people in my room especially when im not there and especially when there touching my things and they both knew this but still brought people into my room and even let them borrow my things, I eventually got a lock for my door, they gave out to me for locking my door and even tired to unlock it using keys off other rooms in the apartment. If I didn't do what they said like wash a cup when they said to wash it, or move something belonging to me the second they said to move it they would shout at me, call me names and my brother would even throw hard objects at me. They'd keep me all night with load music or computer games and if I asked them to lower the noise they would tell me to fuck off or shut up.They would smoke all my cigarettes, even steal them, and if they asked me for one and I said no because I didn't have many left (an being a student in Ireland were a pack of smokes costs 8.50) I couldn't afford to hand them out cigarettes when not only were they getting more money than me but they had packs and packs of tobacco. If I wouldn't give them one my brother would call me names and threaten me. They would eat all of my food, so it got to stage where I had to live on canned food which I hid in my room. They hid all the knifes forks and spoons in there bedroom, and took all the pots because I didn't wash them when they told me to. They would leave dirty dishes lying on the counter for weeks and that wasn't a problem. But if I didn't wash a pot after I had used it with in the day my brother would scream at me. So I ended up living on yogurt and other things that didn't need to be cooked because I had no pots. When I tried to stand up for my self I would get shouted and screamed at, things thrown at me, called names and my brother even made up lies about me to people from my college course. I ended up spending the entire year miserable and depressed in my room.
My ex dumped me 3 months ago, we were together for 4 years, he used to hit me, call me names, put me down and say things deliberately to hurt me, he lied all the time and his friends were also horrible to me and put me down, When ever I tried to stand up for my self he would get angry and tell me to fuck off or shut up or tell me I deserved it. I was always the one who was wrong.
I was bullied all through primary and secondary school by students and teachers, I was even bullied by kids that didn't even go to my school. My friends only really talk to me when they want something or are just bored with nothing else better to do, most of them never invite me anywhere and if I ask them to do anything I get crappy excuses. One of my friends who I talk to all the time on the phone or facebook I haven't seen in 2 years because if I ever ask her to anything she always has some excuse. If I ever have a problem or am going through a hard time, they don't want to know. Hardly any one has asked me how I am since my ex dumped me, apart from my parents and one or two girls from college.
Im living back at home now with my parents for the summer and my mam is constantly giving out to me about my messy room and stupid things like accidentally forgetting to put something back into the press but im just having a really hard time concentrating on anything because I recently found out my ex is moving to canada soon I still love him and I miss him so much, I asked my friends to help me get through this and I haven't heard from most of them since, and the ones I have talked to don't want to know about how im feeling. They don't care. And im feeling really alone and miserable right now.
My question is why do people constantly use me, walk all over me, hurt me and bully me? I try to stand up for my self but it only makes matters worse. Am I really that much of a bad person that everybody hates me so much that they treat me like this and don't care when im upset? Whats wrong with me?

Im really sorry for the lenght I just have nobody to talk to and id really like some advice.
Thank you.

I am 20 years old and my boyfrined is 22years old. We met in high school about 4 years ago on a trip to england ireland and whales. We had some fun on this trip but we only got to stay in london for two days. I feel like we didn't do and see enough and so I figured we should go for a week or two and stay at a hotel but I added it up and that would be way two much money. So then I though why don't we rent a place for a month. I know that is a lot of money too but! We are going to start saving for the next two years. Also my boyfriend and I had been together for 4years almost!

We will save for the next two years! That should be enough for everything in the long run we would have a good time and two years should have enough money by then.
I figure if something were to happen and we break up I would go alone and or I would take my sister who is two years younger then me and she is a good kid.

So what angnice should I be book through? Is there anything I need to know. I know a pound is double american money and I know its a lot of money for a plane like I said before I went there before.
How much would a one bedroom one bathroom flat be?
Any advice on how to save moeny there besides not going?
Anything you guys can tell me would be nice! Thank you!
Okay there is no need to be rude. I have spelling problems a lot of them there is no need to be rude about it.

Anyway I have been to england before but that was a while ago I'm not sure how much changed most likely not much. On top of that I have never been to a place for such a long period of time.

Answer
I think this is a great idea. So many people try to see all of London in a few days and leave with dreams unfulfilled. A month gives you both a chance to enjoy things at a pace that lets you breathe!

You *can* find places for short-term lets, even for only a month. Your best bet will be to start with airbnb.com. This is a site for *anyone* to advertise places they have to offer for rent to visitors. Some are only offering a bedroom in their house; others have studio flats or even larger places which you can rent for longer.
I skimmed through the first few pages of the London UK listings and this is the sort of thing I think would work brilliantly for you and your boyfriend. There are lots of other flats on offer but this was the first I spotted that was a self-contained apartment, offered at a good price, in a decent district and not way out of town. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/279342

It's in a nice safe district, Belsize Park, which is in public transport zone 2 (a short hop by tube to all the heart-of-London attractions). It's got a bunch of nice cafes and a couple of good pubs (for more of either you can stroll up the hill to Hampstead). You're also walking distance from one of London's most fun districts to visit - Camden Town (look up 'Camden Lock' for more info.) =)

There will be lots more good listings but as you're not planning to book right now, it makes more sense for you to look through for yourself. That way you'll not only find something that's right for you; you'll also get a feel for what's on offer. Prices on airbnb vary hugely - some people are asking very silly money!

As for other things you need to know...
Well, for a month, you'll need to budget for food - another reason why being near Camden's a good thing; there are big supermarkets and cheap fruit and veg market stalls there so you can cook at the flat and save money on eating out. So wherever you decide to stay, find out first about its local area. A real advantage to staying in zone 2 rather than right in the touristy heart of London is that you'll be shopping where ordinary locals shop (and paying ordinary local prices - don't get me wrong; they're still not cheap!)

You'll need to budget for insurance. Don't risk travelling without it. Among other things, it will cover cancellation if you or a close family member falls ill and you can't travel; it will cover you against loss or theft, but also fo medical care. Our NHS (National Health Service) is very good and even overseas visitors get free emergency medical treatment, but anything beyond tthat you'd have to pay for. It's a relatively small cost to save the possibility of huge bills, worry and inconvenience.

Get a detailed guidebook to London: preferably more than one (they all have their little biases!) Lonely Planet is a good starting point; Time Out (which also publishes a weekly 'what's on' magazine and runs a parallel website) is excellent.
Use the guidebooks to find out more about London's many different districts as well as to scope out ideas for places you want to see. Then you can post back here with more specific questions as your plans start to take shape.

Saving money. Come between late spring and early autumn. Our weather is notoriously fickle but is usually better behaved then than in winter. Plus you have much longer hours of daylight. In midwinter, sunrise is around 8am and sunset just after 4pm. In midsummer, sunrise is well before 5am and sunset after 9pm. It makes the most of your precious time here, and it's nice not to have to live in warm gloves, hats, scarves and coats!
Most of our major museums and art galleries are free to visit. Take picnics and enjoy the great Royal Parks. There are lots of festivals, concerts etc that cost little or nothing (again, Time Out is your friend!) Eating out at lunchtime is almost always cheaper than dinner. Nearer the time, start checking the UK-based website http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/ for discounts on shopping, attractions, days out etc.

Have fun planning - but let your ideas change; don't get fixed on doing and seeing a particular list of things. Enjoy!

Cost of living in the UK and London

Living in the UK – particularly London – is expensive compared to many places in the World. The cost of living will of course depend on the individual situation (and tastes!) of each working traveller, but you still need to be prepared financially. Just because you’ve been working hard to save many thousands of your own currency, doesn’t mean it will be quite as many pounds! Check out a Currency Converter to get an idea of what your currency will be worth in the UK.

Generally, you should prepare yourself (and save accordingly) for the following costs while in London:

Accommodation
Food, Dining and Drinking
Transport
Entertainment
Initial Costs

While it’s important to be aware of the costs you will be facing as a working traveller, don’t let it put you off! As long as you plan carefully and think about cost-saving strategies the cost of living in England or the rest of the UK need not be prohibitive. In the UK, shared housing and utilising the excellent public transport networks are two significant ways to reduce your costs of living.

Also check out International Money Transfer to and from UK and Opening a UK Bank Account.

Average Cost of Accommodation in London

West End Theatre £25+

Live music/concerts £10+

New release DVD rental £3.50

Initial Costs
There are also some initial costs that will whittle your wallet down fairly quickly if you don’t plan accordingly, especially when it comes to setting up longer-term accommodation. Generally you should budget for the following:

Accommodation when you arrive: If you haven’t already organised accommodation for when you first arrive make sure you have enough money for hostel or hotel accommodation (from £11 upwards per night) or to give to mates who let you doss.

Bond and first month’s rent: This will be your most significant outlay. When leasing a flat or room in a flat-share bond can be up to 6 weeks rent and on top of that you will probably have to pay up to a month’s rent in advance. This could be as much as £1000 depending on the price of your rent.

Transport: Flat and job hunting can take a lot of trekking across the city on Tubes and buses. Make sure you have some cash for public transport or to purchase an Oyster card, see Getting around the UK.

Mobile phone: If you’ve brought your mobile phone from home you still may need to buy a SIM card or pay to have your phone ‘unlocked’ from your previous carrier. Avoid phone contracts if possible and opt for pre-pay calling. Be sure to put aside some cash to buy pre-paid top-ups; not being able to call back a potential employer because you have no credit is not a good look!

Internet access: You’ll probably be using the Internet for job hunting, searching for accommodation and staying in touch with family and friends back home. Internet cafes charge from £1 an hour, but allow plenty of cash for this as you’d be surprised how many hours you can rack up in these places.

Clothing: Hopefully you packed suitable clothes for the season you’re arriving in the UK and if you found room in your suitcase or backpack, suitable clothing for job interviews in your line of work. But, if sneakers won out over suits, make sure you have some pounds in your budget for interview and work-wear.

Eating and drinking: Your first few weeks are sure to be a blur of eating, drinking and socialising. Eating out in London isn’t cheap so try not to have breakfast, lunch and dinner (and those crisps with your pint) while out and about as it will be more economical to buy groceries and prepare your own meals.

There are of course ways of saving your hard earned pounds as a working traveller (you say frugal, we say sensible!) for more important things like skiing in the Swiss Alps and living it up in Ibiza. Here are some cost-saving strategies:

Utilise your student or youth travel card: You are entitled to many discounts if you have a student or International youth travel card. This includes discounted entry to museums, cinemas and clubs. There are also special deals and discounts associated with Oyster cards (see Getting around the UK), so keep it handy at all times. Remember, a pound saved on a movie ticket is a pound towards another pint!
Buy from Charity Shops: Walk down any High Street in London and you’ll be hard pressed not to see at least a handful of Charity Shops (op shops, or second hand shops). Make these your first port of call for any crockery, utensils or home wares for your pad. Most stock decent clothing and shoes too, so if you don’t have a suit for that all important job interview, you can pick up a bargain.
Keep your eyes peeled for specials: At home you may have cringed when your mate whipped out a ‘buy one get one free’ voucher, but when you’ve only a few pounds left in your wallet you’ll be cheering for specials. Check the back of your cinema ticket for discounts at nearby restaurants, take advantage of early-bird dining offers at restaurants you normally wouldn’t be able to afford and make note of happy hour times at every pub you pass.
Leave things till the last minute: If you’re working casually and can pack your bags at a moment’s notice there are some great last minute travel deals to be had. Check lastminute.com for flights, accommodation and package deals.
Book ahead of time: In slight contradiction to the above point, you can also save loads of dosh by booking your travels well in advance! If you know the best time for you to take off work or when your mates are free to travel, book your flights/trains and accommodation early, this is often when you will get the biggest bargains.
Watch out for swaps and freebies: The only thing better than something cheap is something for free! There are some kind souls in London who give away stuff they no longer need to struggling working travellers, you just need to be able to go and pick it up. From mattresses and couches to computers and tellies, there’s plenty up for grabs.
Join the local library: Once you’re settled in a suburb one of the first things you should do is join your local library. Many have free computers and Internet access and cheap (£1 - £3) CDs and DVDs for hire, not to mention guide books to borrow for all of your adventures abroad!
You can of course save even more money by living outside of London, as the cost of accommodation and day to day living expenses are significantly lower than the capital. Keep in mind though that your UK earnings may be lower (or higher depending on your line of work) and some people may find the lifestyle and travel options can be less vibrant and varied than central London. Of course, it’s each working traveller’s personal preference where they want to base themselves for what will be the adventure of a lifetime no matter what!

To gain a better understanding of just how far your pounds will go when you’re in the UK and when you get home (if you’ve been lucky enough to save some along the way) check out the OECD Purchasing Power Parities. Purchasing Power Parities (PPPs) are basically a rate of currency conversion that equalise the purchasing power of different currencies by eliminating the differences in price levels between countries. The simplest way of working out your own PPP is to compare two identical products in two different country’s currency (the most common products used to calculate PPPs are Big Macs and Coca Cola, basically because you can get them everywhere) and then see how much you would have to spend to obtain the same quantity of the product. So have a look to see how many burgers your savings will allow, although we hope you’ll be slightly more adventurous on the food front while you’re a working traveller in the UK!

Thank you.

Chores for a 7, 9 & 12yr old? Things to do for money?

kids bedroom ideas ireland
on 17 Bedrooms Just for Boys - Better Homes and Gardens
kids bedroom ideas ireland image

Alicia gets €30 a week
Jacob gets €20 a week
And Ellen gets €10 per week.

People from Ireland: What do you think and what are your experiences?

kids bedroom ideas ireland image

Dear Jane.

Wikepedia is somewhat helpful, but I'm not sure how acurate and recently updated. I have a ton of questions I hope people can answer. Try to answer as many as you know....

My husband and I are from the US. I have really wanted to move to Ireland for a long time, and he is fine with the idea. What are the odds of us both finding a job in Ireland? Where are the best places to look? What are the best areas to live/work/raise kids? We have a daughter, but she's very young.

I believe I would like to live in southern Ireland (Republic), since it is not part of the UK, but I have heard northern Ireland is better. Are the laws that different and what area would be easier for Americans to adjust to? I am actually of Irish decent, but I also wondered how Irish people viewed America in general...like do you think we are a spoiled country, etc. like most other countries? Would it be easy for us to fit in? We both have red hair...if that helps haha.....

What is the cost of living like? How much do you think it would take, plane ticket aside, to get started? What is the rent for a two bedroom apartment (in relation to American money)?

Does Ireland still run off one electric company? How many airlines does Ireland have and what do you think the cost of a ticket one way for two adults and a baby?
Are you calling ME the idiot? You just put an answer that didn't even APPLY to ANY question up there! Why bother?

Answer
Don`t blame you for wanting to move!...BUT...PLEASE don`t move here! We have enuff idiots as it is.

Want to adopt sister in laws son,is it a Good idea?

Hello, I am a father of four beautiful children and married ten years to my wife.My wife lost her her sister due to a battle of cancer she only was diagnosed 8 months ago but sadly she lost the battle and its really made my wife downtrying to cheer her up these days is hard as they grew up together .she left behind a beautiful baby boy who is only a year and a half we found out her sister never decided who would take care of her child after because the death was so sudden .We are from ireland i myself am not irish in from the Netherlands and im dutch .i myself have no problem with taking in the child me and my wife love children and before this happened we were trying for our fifth child for over a year but have found it hard to conceive.I admit we are not perfect but i think we should keep him in the blood.we have good jobs im an accountant my wife's a nurse and i hope that way it will stand good for us so if we decide to we can get custody i think it will be up in court in about 3 to four weeks time im not 100% sure.I've not mentioned it yet with my wife but i am going to after i get advice. The child is with his Grandparents at he moment, his father is not in the picture as he didn't want to get involved when he was born.I think we can cope very well with this child as our oldest is nine down to age four so they too are fit to care and help this child when growing up .What i am wonder is would my nationality stand as im not irish but taking custody of an irish child? would we be too old to adopt im 43 my wife is 32? Could they tell us we have no room as we've a four bedroom house? And also how do we tell them we want to rared this child? i know my wife will want to because she would do anything to have something left with this child.Over all is this a good idea? Thank you very much for you're time, and im open to any advice

Answer
Absolutely not, since to do so would be (a) forcing the kid to live a life of legalised lies, and - more importantly - (b) by legally obliterating your nephew's mother from his life, he'd lose her not only once to death, but would also lose any legal connection he ever had with her.

Take him in and raise him, but do NOT force the poor kid into a life of legalised lies. Instead take him on under guardianship: http://www.privatefostering.org.uk/

Flat-Share Rental per month One Bedroom Flat Rental per month
East London £290 - £390 (single), £430 - £600 (double) East London £650 - £750

Average pub meal £6 - £10
Average restaurant meal £12 - £20
Pint of beer £2.50 - £3

Average meal for two in mid-priced restaurant £40

UK cost of Transportation

Monthly Zone 1-2 Travelcard £86
Train trip to Edinburgh £110 (standard single)
Train trip to Cambridge / Brighton £17 - £20 (single)
Avg mid-sized car rental for a weekend £70
Return budget flight to Spain £120 - £150 (budget carrier)
Eurostar return ticket to Paris £125 (standard class)
Return flight to Ireland £50 - £60 (budget carrier)

UK cost of Entertainment
Movie £7-£10
West End Theatre £25+
Club/Pub Entry £5 - £20
Live music/concerts £10+
Chart CDs £8 - £12

People from Ireland: What do you think and what are your experiences?

Thank you.
