Beach theme bedroom.Help with ideas.?
We are gonna be moving into a new house.I want my room to kinda have a beach or ocean kinda theme. One like where you can escape from the hard working day. Like the walls to be a sand color. I have a new bedspread that is blue and green circles with polka dots in them and pink pillow cases and sheets. I like those kinda colors, but should I get a diff. bedspread ( kinda plane ) like blue green or yellow? I want to have the words " world peace" or just "peace "cut out and made out of pictures and hang it on my wall the a collage ( how ever u spell it ). Idk if that works. I also want like relaxing pictures of waves and water falls and palm trees and stuff. But I still want it to be fun. So can you give me neat ideas for colors , furnature and stuff like that. Make sure it all goes with a beach theme ( but still fun ) .
Thanks !
( btw im 14 years old ) :]

My wife wanted what you are talking about. We both love the beach.I painted the whole room a sky blue even the ceiling. I took a can of sand brown spray paint and sprayed about 2 feet from the floor up all the way around the room it does not have to be a straight line. On the wall in front of our bed i drew and painted a lighthouse from the floor to the ceiling. Then i got a little darker blue and sprayed the water all around about 2 feet and then took white to make the wave caps. Then i sprayed clouds on the ceiling and about a foot off the ceiling on the wall these were all random all over the room. I got a little bottle of enamel paint they use on models and painted these ~ ~ randomly around the room they look like birds flying in the distance. I took the same paint brush used for water colors and used a brown and green to paint the fountain type grass in a few places. It took me 2 days a weekend it turned out great and she loves it . She showed it to some friends and i have done some other murals for 3 of her friends kids rooms. A Disney room where i drew a bunch of the Disney characters. All so did a sports room and a Jungle room they all turned out great. I am not an artist but i can look at a picture and copy it out of a book. Hope this gives you some ideas. If you use the spay paint which is fast for large areas cover the floor and have good ventilation i also used those little paper nose and mouth covers you see them use in the hospitals which you can buy at the paint store i got all my stuff at walmart. Every thing i drew and painted came from magazines.

As our family has recently moved, I am decorating my new room in an ocean theme. We had taken a trip to California last fall and I fell in love with the ocean (even more so than I had every other time I had been out there.) We drove up the PCH (Pacific Coastal Highway), through Malibu and many other breathtaking places. When we reached our destination, my fondest memories are just of us sitting on the beach watching the waves crash onto shore. That is what I am going to attempt to recreate in my room, but I am still looking for ideas from others who have done this. Most other rooms I've seen have either underwater ocean themes (mostly kids rooms), or they do an ocean themed room with just solid wall colors. I want to create an ocean-like experience on at least one wall. You can usually pick up ocean-like nicknacks at garage sales or thrift stores.
My advice: Pick out a favorite place, whether it's an ocean or in the heart of New York City, and if you have large enough walls, there are usually wall-murals you can buy. (I had one in my old room.) That way when you enter your room, you feel as if you are in your favorite place.
