Wall stickers for kids bedrooms?
Inked Mama
I'm moving into a rented house so I can't paint the walls unfortunately so I want to brighten up my son's cream bedroom - has anybody used the wall stickers you can buy, and if so do they peel off fine when you take them off or do they leave any marks (or pull the paint) or anything?
This is the kind of thing I'm on about, if it helps: http://www.thekidswindow.co.uk/Selling.asp?product=2355
Thanks! I've just ordered some small Thomas the Tank Engine ones, but I just had to share this as I found the coolest thing which I also bought! http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001D0NJMC/ref=ox_ya_oh_product
Thanks for your help!

I've used wall stickers for my son's bedroom. They weren't from the same company. (The link you gave was for the uk) . They worked great! I had no problem with peeling them off and they're a cute, inexpensive way to brighten a kid's bedroom. I let my son put his up himself. It was lots of fun!

Do you allow your kids into your bedroom?

My husband and I were both raised in homes where the parental bedroom was off limits. He wishes to continue this, only allowing our 2 year old in when he has a nightmare or needs us during the night, and our 3 month old in while we are co-sleeping. I'm not sure about it though. I mean, yes I would like it because we wouldn't have to have everything put away all the time, and we would have the privacy of our room, but I also want my kids to feel they can come to me anytime they need me. Plus, we occasionally watch movies in there on our computer, because we do not have TV elsewhere in the home. What are the rules at your house?
Well, my it was my mother's mentality that her room was her place to go when she had had too much or was having a bad day and needed a break, and us following her there or barging in might upset her more. Plus she always said there was nothing in there for us to do anyway, so why did we even need in there?
Answer
Certainly.
In fact, when we redid our bedroom several years ago, my only request was for a California King sized bed, and I'm glad we got it because when our kids were younger, our entire family would pile on it some nights. We have a television in our bedroom, and we keep many of our movies in a little cabinet just outside, in the hallway, so our bed has always been a favorite place for watching movies. While we never exactly 'co-slept' other than using an in-bedroom bassinet for the first two months, we did used to have family 'sleepovers' (usually when Daddy was out of town on business trips!) where all of my munchkins would fall asleep in the bed with me.
It is my childrens' home, too, therefore, no, we don't have any rooms in which they are not allowed. That doesn't mean we can't respect each others' privacy, however, and knocking before entering has always been a rule. But just as they trust me not to go through their things without permission or cause, I trust them not to go through mine. This arrangement has always worked fine for us.
Best of luck!
