Kids Bedroom Designs - Have you ever tried Painting Glow Stars on the Bedroom Ceiling (Ideas)?

My kid loves the night sky and I'm planning to paint his bedroom ceiling with glow in the dark stars. Have you ever tried this, or have ideas for wall murals?

I've painted everything from butterflies to beetles, dragonflies to moths on my daughter's bedroom ceiling. What I do is paint the glow stars first in deep blue or green and then add the extra elements based on the scene I want to recreate.
Kids bedroom designs work best when you work around a well-defined theme. Take the decor of the rest of the room into consideration so that the colors, lighting and your kid's likes and dislikes are accounted for.
This past week I designed my son's bedroom ceiling around the deep space theme. The key was to include as many fresh elements as possible to make it authentic. Stars, constellations, aliens, planets, meteors, galaxies... The glow-in-the-dark paint gave the starscape mural an entirely awesome look.

using exterior paint in a kids bedroom...?

okay, just finished painting my son's room with exterior 100% acrylic latex paint. (i was told at the store that it would be okay) but now, after smelling it still 24 hours later, i began to research the health issues, and they are NOT good. I haven't let anyone sleep or play in just yet, but i want to know what could really happen if i keep it the way it is. Is it true that after it completely dries it still lets out "bad" vapors? i know i should probably just go buy interior and re-do it all considering my son's health is way more important than anything else. I just wanted to see if anyone else has used exterior paint in a kids room, and whether or not they had an issues with it. Thank you in advance.

Should be ok after it dries. I notice now some paints are rated interior/exterior. Not a good idea. My husband bought Kilz Brand to paint outside. I emailed Kilz before he used it, they promised it was ok for outside. What a mess that paint made. Looked like he painted with white wash instead of paint. It is going to have to be redone this summer. But as far as health, I don't think it will cause a problem, lead is not allowed in any paint these days.
