Kid Friendly, Gender Neutral Bedroom?
Anna S
Decorating a room for a walk through with a foster agency and need it to be "kid friendly" without knowing if we're getting a girl or boy. Anyone have an idea for a theme for kids room that's gender neutral? We prefer not too "loud" of colors, our house is brown and green. Pictures of rooms definitely help. Right now we just have white walls and a white bunk bed frame, this room needs some life and be kid friendly! We are looking for ages 6+ as well, so nothing too little kiddie.
Thank you!

Maybe a theme with Olive green or shades of blue (works for both genders). You could also try something in light orange (almost cream or beige in color). Quite honestly though, children love bright colors even though we, as adults may not fancy them as much. :)
I wouldn't suggest colors that are too dull for kids, like grey, black or white. Maybe the theme could include something related to nature or the galaxy. Trees and flowers or the stars and the moon, etc. or even something educational like a world map. The fish or aqua theme or an animals theme could be nice too. It would be nice if I get to know what you ended up choosing... :)

Try using a virtual room designer:
http://www.findanyfloor.com/VirtualRoomDesigner.xhtml
Play around with wall color options, ceiling options, etc! Its a lot of fun to use and its helpful when deciding what you like and what you don't like! Have fun! Hope this helps!
