Is your bedroom a no kid zone?

They say your bedroom should be more like a sanctuary. It's a place to relax, sleep or be intimate and kids should never be allowed to just come in and out as they please. I started laughing when I heard this because our 2 year old daughter shares a room with us and it's IMPOSSIBLE to keep our bedroom kid free right now.

We are moving in a few weeks to where we will all have our own rooms. I'm starting to like the idea of a no kid zone bedroom. There will be no toys or a tv in our room and really no reason for them to go in there, except to go down into the basement because that's where the basement door is. So what's it like in your house?

BQ: What to you think about a beach themed bedroom?
Its not like I am banning them from our room lol. They won't be shot for trespassing. I just like the idea and it will be less to clean if it's not played in all the time.

Yes! It drives me nuts when my kids go into my room to play or bring toys in! They have their 2 bedrooms and a playroom, they do not need to play in my room. I have this argument with them everyday! It's tough right now because I have 2 under 2 and they don't understand so they are in the bedroom while I shower and stuff, but then the older 2 think that means they can come in and make a mess and it drives me nuts!
Every other room in the house is theirs to play in-this belongs to me and my husband!

Seriously? Having a space in the house means that is "kid free" means that I am neglectful and I don't know my kids? What about promoting a relationship between my husband and I? We have 4 kids and very little time to ourselves-don't we deserve to have a space that is just for us? They get in bed with us at night if they are scared, and when they calm down they go back to bed. It's not like we are being mean by expecting a little bit of privacy.

I need some DIY Western themed kids bedroom ideas?
