When cleaning your house, what things should be done first?
Nichol
I always struggle with getting as much done as I can. I have laundry to do, at least 4 loads of dishes to do, have to clean the: bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, a kids bedroom etc. In order to do as much as I can with the time I have, what should I tackle first, or does it even matter? Any tips? Thanks!

~When you get finished using a dish, put it in the dishwasher so they don't pile up in your sink. If you have 4 loads stacking up you aren't doing them nearly enough. I have a family of 4 and I run the dishwasher once at night after dinner (and that is after all the dishes during the day).
~Take certain days of the week (say Tuesdays and Fridays) where you scrub down your bathrooms. Then everyday you can just go in really quick and clean out the toilet bowl and wipe everything down. It takes less than 3 mins or your time.
~Same goes for your living room. Make a certain day a day to dust and organize. Put things away rather than just leaving it to be picked up later.
~Pick certain days to clean your floors. We have cats and a dog so I have to vacuum everyday because if the fur.
~Wipe down your dinner table after every meal.
~I don't know how old your kids are but they need to get in on helping keep things picked up and clean. I have a 4 year old and a 1 year old. They help pick up toys, laundry and help clean their room. Take 5 mins and clean everything up. I do this twice a day because we are at home during the day. As they get older they need to become responsible for cleaning their own rooms.
You get the idea. Once you get your house clean and organized it will take you no time at all to do your daily chores.

How to make house smell fresh?
SamIam82
We moved into a house that has a musty smell. It is pretty easy to handle in the rooms with windows, but both of the kids bedrooms don't have windows. I have tried cleaning the carpets with everything imaginable-and it doesn't help that my son keeps having potty training accidents. I have tried candles, febreze, etc. I have even put the fan in front of the door to move the air around-no change. Both rooms have ceiling fans and central air.

In the supermarket there is a product called Nil ODOUR it is only a tiny bottle but a LITTLE just a few drops goes a long way and this has always worked for problem odours for me and i once had trouble with a tom cat spraying everywhere and this became my best friend and another great idea is little bags of dried lavender over the door handles of the bedrooms or any room for that matter and every time i pass the doors i just scrunch on the bags and the aroma moves through the room gently and leaves a fresh earthy odour, i don't recommend candles just for the fire aspect and lighting and blowing them out only works for a very short time, or put eucalyptuss oil on cotton wool balls and deposit them around the rooms refreshing them as needed.....
