Do you ever get tired of diaper packages strung around the house?
Q. I get so tired of the packages of diapers around my house. I have 2 kids in different sizes. Is there any home diaper dispenser available? We've tried neatly stacking them in a box but it looks tacky. We have a big house and leaving them in the nursery gets annoying as well having to journey down our very long hallway just to get a diaper or change the baby in there. We don't use a changing table, don't have one. I know they have those cute little decorative ones that hang from the wall or changing table but like I said, don't have a table and they look tacky on the wall. We have company over all the time and are tired of putting diapers away that may be laying around because it looks like clutter. Is there anything that is kind of decorative yet discrete? Id keep them in the bedroom like I said but my house is huge and its annoying taking that loooong journey to find a diaper, lol. What do you do? Any suggestions?
Wise guy, I do cherish every moment with my children, but one thing I left out is my oldest tends to drag everything out and then they are really ALL OVER the house, lol. The toys don't bother me, its the having to find a spot just to put the diapers so they are NOT STRUNG ALL OVER. And our puppy tends to get a hold of one by accidentally leaving it where he can get it and then its shredded everywhere! So please don't tell me about cherishing memories. Thats not the issue here.
And thanks for the basket idea, I don't know why I haven't thought of that! duh...lol ;)

A. I'm definitely with you there, Mom. We have pretty much resided in large houses with at least two stories, and it's too cumbersome to always be going upstairs for a diaper when you need one. My youngest is in the beginning stages of potty-training so we have to still keep pull-ups and wipes handy. Luckily, we have a closet in our living room downstairs (it's an older home and so full of nooks and crannys and storage areas), so right now the pull-ups, wipes and our diaper genie stay in there, out of sight.
When we haven't been so lucky to have a closet nearby, I've used large baskets to store everything, and just put them in the rooms and places where they would be handy. If you don't want anyone to know what's inside, you can cover with a pretty blanket, or purchase a basket with a lid that you can flip open. Since you've got two in diapers, I would get either two slightly different baskets to tell them apart, or just buy one real large one and store everything in there. Usually a good place to store is on the side of a couch, on the floor out of the way, or in a corner of the room. I've just found decorating-wise that a basket always looks pretty no matter what it's being used for. You can purchase them pretty cheap at your local Wal-Mart in the crafts department. Good luck and hope this helps!
