A. Making a Loft Bedroom
Step 1Select a loft bed as the anchoring piece of furniture for the room. These are manufactured for all different tastes and budgets. While some are no more than a bed built on stilts, the best ones are built atop of dressers and a desk, to create a multi-functional space.
Make sure the bed will fit appropriately in the space. Many loft beds are large and need to fit into the room in a certain way, if it's got a desk or other features. Take into account any closet doors or windows that could impede function. You don't want to get a huge, expensive piece of furniture home, then find out you can't open your closet door.
Step 2Decide what the space under the bed will be used for. How old is the user? What are their interests? Will they be playing with dolls or video games here? Should there be a study space? Personalize the space for the user.
Step 3Furnish the space under the bed. Choose furniture that is lower to the floor, like beanbags instead of easy chairs, so that when you stand up you don't hit your head. Add a light; clip lights work well. If there's no shelving built in, add a small bookcase underneath for added storage.
Get creative with the space. Hang curtains to create a kid's clubhouse. Set up a video-game station for teens. Make an under-the-bed closet for a fashionista. The space can be changed around as tastes change.

What colours should I use in baby room?
Q. We are due a baby boy in april And live in a 2 bedroom house. My partners daughter comes to stay with us every 2nd weekend! Room is pink everything at the moment, I really want to make room a babies room, he will be my first child, I need ideas on making this a baby boys/ 4 yr old girls rm xx pls
A. Congrats!
Here's a short guide to designing a baby's room:

And here's another one on designing a kid's room on a budget:

In my opinion, I wouldn't worry about balancing out the baby's need with the 4 year-old daughters needs, since she is only there 4 days or so a month. But to make it fair(er), you can choose a neutral color for the walls and just be sure to give the daughter her own "space" in the room where she can express herself or where the design reflects her personality and interests. If she is keen on pink, she can always have pink bedding and accent pillows...
Good luck with this project!

My room is so plain. I need ideas on how to decorate it?
Q. Im recently divorced and just moved to a new house with my kids. But my bedroom looks so plain, im not sure how to decorate it. I have a bed, dresser, and 2 night stands. Help!
A. Well since you have your basics, it's time to JAZZ up the place!!! I think a good place to start is by thinking of the amount of your budget for your room makeover. It's easy to say you want to do something different until you actually start shopping for it. So having a ballpark idea of your finances towards this project is a great start. Secondly, figure out the type of atmosphere/ambiance you want in YOUR room. I know it has to be different going from 2 to 1, but that's where you get the freedom to express yourself without considering anyone else. This will help with choosing a paint color for your room (if you decide to do so), and we know paint sets good tones. I am a BIG FAN of the accent wall (which is painting one wall in the bedroom one BOLD color, allowing the others to remain white). Or going with a nice neutral tone throughout the room works just as well.
After you've figured all that out you can begin to have fun with the rest!!!
1. Choose a bedding that helps amplify the atmosphere of your room. Whichever works best for you!!!
2. If you choose to do an accent wall, I'd find a nice piece of art to hang over my headboard. That will create a focal point in the room. Even if not, I'd still accent a wall with nice and understated wall art to give the space decor.
3. Track lighting is a nice decor idea to add a little serenity to your space. It's something to consider, but not a must have.
4. DECORATE!!!! Take the colors you have chosen for your room and use it throughout the room in decor such as lights/lamps, rugs, wall arts, candles, etc.
ANOTHER IDEA: Since you're down to the basics, why clutter the room with unnecessary decorations. Knowing how to create a feng shui environment, I heard, is AMAZING. It's decorating in a sense that you only keep EXACTLY what you need and use, as to keep the harmony of your space tranquil. Here's info about that: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=great%20atmospheres%20for%20the%20bedroom&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&biw=1276&bih=697&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=iw&ei=IukrUKzgMY24qQGa-YCgDA#hl=en&sclient=psy-ab&q=feng+shui&oq=fung+sh&gs_l=serp.1.1.0j0i10j0l2.1308.4453.0.7191.13.10.2.1.1.3.754.2648.3j3j1j1j0j1j1.10.0.les%3Bcrnk_fspiked..0.0...1c.2gl7astDy0w&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=f1f678cb2a5bd7d8&biw=1276&bih=697
A lot of info but I hope it helps!!

I am trying to redo my teenage granddaughters bedroom and I am not sure how much of it I should let her do?
Q. She is a good child but kids at this age have different ideas than I did at her age. I want to be open minded and fair. After all she will be staying in it the most. How much control she she be allowed in things like paint colors, ceiling colors, what goes on the walls,
A. Set the budget for the decorating and let her pick out what she wants. If she asks you for input give it to her. If not keep quiet and let her chose on her own. It will help her express herself and show her you respect her and trust her judgment. Like you said it is "her" room and she will be spending time in it not you.
