What is a good website (or ideas)to get ideas and how-tos on redoing a kids bedroom with stuff you already own?

Q. I have three little girls and am redoing their rooms. I need ideas on how to take things we already have and use them in a new light. Or, if you know a good website...that would be great too!

A. ASk them what colors they like in each room and what is there favorite toy or animal what hey are into and you can get there old clothes and make pillows, add a favor it shirt or outfit sewn on the bed spread pain their furniture. Sheets make great curtains and can cover and old chair, top of a toy box. with 2 sided tape you can take that cute animal or character cut it out of the okd sheet or pajama add it to the wall. 2 sided tapethey have fabric glue or tape for material. Some old wooden toys can be screwed to a board and made a jama hanger or coat.

Why do my light bulbs keep burning out?

Q. My light bulbs keep burning out over my kitchen table. Can there be something wrong with the light or the wiring? My landlord says that nothing can be wrong, but I beg to differ and I'm tired of changing the bulbs every few months.

A. Depends. If you leave them on a lot it may be just the hours you are burning them. But where mine usually burn out the fastest is on the first floor ceiling where the kids bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. Or stair-wells. Answers: Vibration. The kids jump up and down. Run down the stairs ,etc. If this could be a possibility try using "long life bulbs", halogen, or my favorite CF to save energy. Make sure for safety you check the fixture and ensure those optional bulbs won't cause a fire.

How do I get my two kids to nap and sleep in the same room?

Q. I have two kids, 20mos and 6mos, and up until now they've both had their own rooms. We are downsizing to save money (1 income) and they are going to have to sleep in the same room. What can we do to make this as successful as possible? The 6mos child wakes up once in the night.

A. I think the only issue is whether your 20 mos old is a light sleeper or not. Because when he/she wakes up in the middle of the night, you'll have to go in and get her/him and put him/her back after nursing/bottle/diaper change... it might be too much for your 20 mos old.. unless he/she sleeps like a log and you know for sure wont hear a thing.
Why dont you put the 6 mos old baby in your room till he/she sleeps thru the night, and then move her/him into a shared bedroom.
Aside from that, maybe you could tell your oldest, that his/her sibling will be sharing the room, and putting some of the baby's stuff in there so as the older child gets used to the idea. It should be fine!

Why do light bulbs burn out prematurely in our house ?

Q. This is the first house I've ever seen that goes through light bulbs on average once every 3 to 4 weeks. Jeeze, there must be something in the wiring or something that is causing this. please help

A. The only things that I know burns bulbs out fast is
moisture
vibration
voltage

Water if you have it you know it
Vibration whats above the light attic or the kids bedrooms
voltage effects the whole house not just one or two lights.

I agree that cheap bulbs can cause problems, look for bulbs that are rated for 130 volts
