What color should I design the other room incase my family stays there?

Q. What's are some ideas on designing some empty rooms in the house? What should he make it into since it's?
not occupied?

suppose only one bedroom is being occupied right now which has a zen theme

and one room was made into an exercise room

A. For a guest room:
First, decide what color you would like to paint it (unless you want the color it is). Don't do pink or purple because that is a girl's color, and as you are probably expecting not just girls in that room, make sure it's a color that any one of your guests would like. Obviously don't paint it black, or even gray. Guys might like one of those colors, but girls won't! Also, try not to paint it too bright. Although some guests might like bright colors, some might find it weird. So try to stay away from bright yellow, orange, or red. That pretty much brings it down to the basic guest room colors: light blue, tan, maybe light green, white, any thing along that line would do. And decorating it is important. You want the room to look elegant, yet homey at the same time. Don't add too much furniture, but enough for the guest/guests. Please remember that you want make sure that YOU are happy with the room. Make sure that it will please most people, but make sure that you like the room. If you don't and pay all of this money for furniture, you go through painting it and all of that, and you end up NOT liking it... well, that would be like a huge waste. So, make sure you are happy with it (although don't base everything just on your taste) and that others are happy with it, and that you have fun!!!

For other room ideas:
A sewing room (if you sew), An attic type room where you just store all of your stuff, A craft area (if you craft), A play room for kids (if you have kids, but it sounds like you don't), Just another lounge type area with maybe a futon for guests, a nice tv and bookcase, And pretty much whatever fits your need.
Have fun and don't stress about it!!!

i need help with my bedroom?
Q. I'm turning 13 soon and my family is moving to a new house where everyone has their own rooms (there are 5 kids) my mom is getting rid of all are furniture for new stuff. im having my room painted orange with a navy blue stripe in the middle with furniture white (i wanted black but my mom said white for girls but the colors go so i'm fine with it) i'm worried i cant do much with the bedding etc. because of the color theme white, navy, and orange. i also am having a hard time finding a desk i like to draw, mold clay, make masks, design things, writing stories that sort of stuff so i need space. i was thing of a platform bed as well but i'm not sure. i need basic stuff a book shelf, desk, bed, dresser but i cant find any one that don't look like a 5 year olds (i would know my bed was one from when i was four and its a twin sized >.<) any ideas for my room? lol sorry its so long.
My mom and i are still talking about the shades of orange I was thinking bright orange and navy and she thinks a lighter blue with a normal orange. I want a modern room with a bit of a Japanese/Asian thing I'm into the whole zen thing. I'm into Japanese and Chinese culture so any decor with their theme.

A. Your mom is wise in vetoing the black. Your room would look like Halloween, and that's about as far from japanese as you can get. I collect Asian, Japnese and Chinese items, and they do use a dark blue, but it's more of a cobalt than navy, but navy would work. They use very little orange though. They do a lot of black and red, so you may have trouble finding Japanese items that wiill go with orange.

Here are some ideas:

Since you seem to enjoy crafts, get a shallow dish, and make an artificial bosai with a small tree, a couple of rocks, some immitation grass, or some sand, and a small mirror for water. Small artificial trees, and immitation grass can be found at craft, and hobby stores.
Hang some paper lanterns
Put a couple of Asian fans on your wall
Look in flea markets, or garage sales for Japanese knick-knacks, vases, ginger jars, statues, etc.

Maybe what you need is a fairly good sized work table, instead of a traditional desk. For your furniture, square with straight lines is more adult, and more like Asian. On dressers you can always replace the knobs if they don't fit with your decor.
Someone on here had a link to platform beds a couple of days ago. Look through the questions, and see if you can find it. It had some really nice styles. You can always google platform beds too. That's a good choice as they look very Japanese. Zen is very calm, peaceful, and minimalistic, with everything in balance. Just keep that in mind as you decorate, and you'll do fine.

Redecorating Bedroom, NO Clue What I Want.?
Q. I'm a teenager with a 5 year olds room. It is blue and has stars all over the walls and ceiling.

I like the look of Zen and Safari themed rooms. I just want something that is simple looking, not too bright, and has something to do with nature. I have my bed picked out. It's a platform bed that I can stain, paint, do whatever I want to it sine I'm pretty sure I'm getting someone to build it for me.

No pinks, or super bright colors. I have no idea what color my I want my room to be. I have a white desk built into my wall, so something that looks good with white and silver. I'm not super girly. I want it to look more mature since I have been in a little kids room since I was 5.

Pictures of rooms and colors would be appreciated. I have no idea what I really want so as long as it sorta matches some of the thing up there that's fine. I was searching for a inspiration like some sort of painting or sculpture so if there's something cool that would go good in a bedroom, please share.

P.S. I like the look of white pearls and silver. I don't want real pearls though XD Something that has that look since I don't want to spend tons of money on stuff for my bedroom. I really just need some sort of inspiration for my room. So whatever you can find, I would love to know about anything.

A. sea foam green and rich colored stains. Maybe go with a blonde wood color since you've already got the white table. leave the moulding and door frames white to pick up with color of your desk. I think silver accessories would look great with this and you can throw in another color depending on the bedspread you get.

I think dark brown furniture looks really sophisticated with seafoam green but since your desk is already white I'd go with the blonde wood unless you're willing to repaint that desk black (which you could do).

A little rock fountain and a bamboo plant or two will make your zen theme work. Just stick with mostly solid colors if you're going for zen. Maybe a small pattern here and there on a pillow or in a picture frame.

How can I get more in-tune with my spiritual side? Sixth sense, possibly?
Q. When my Dad shot himself almost 5 years ago, I felt him around and I said aloud, "Dad, I'm not ready to see you, yet" because I was scared and 8 months pregnant with my daughter all by myself. She was born exactly a month after my Dad committed suicide. I always felt better with my cats around since they say animals can sense spirits. I'm sure I'm getting laughed at for this, so don't read if you're not a believer. I could laugh at non believers just the same, but I'm not close-minded.

Anyway...I've always had these small psychic occurrences....just small dreams about things that are about to happen. Really pointless stuff like I had a dream 10+ years ago my friend's car broke down and he bought a new blue one....then when I talked to him, his car had actually broken down, and he bought a blue-green one. Sounds silly, but it's always this little stuff that doesn't really matter.

When my Dad died, I blocked it all out. I was afraid of feeling anything and put all my focus on my newborn daughter (now, 4 1/2). When my hubby and I got together, we knew we were soul mates, and I swear he brought me back to life.He gets vibes and feelings and senses about spirits, and I believe in it all....I believe I have that within me, too. And I feel like it's been coming back. My hubby and I have been together for almost 2 years and have a 7 month old son.

There have been some paranormal things happening (if you feel like reading my last REALLY long question....), and I'll have pointless thoughts and test myself like, "he'll put on that black shirt" and I won't say anything....then he'll walk from the bedroom with that exact shirt on (happened this morning), and I'll think of a song and it will play....just small stuff like that.

So...my question is, can I feed into this and make it stronger? I feel like I'm ready to open up to it, now with my husband by my side. How do I delve into this world? Is it safe? Does it matter? Will I regret it? I want to see what's beyond this world.....and if I can get closer to my Dad, as crazy as that may sound, I want to. God, I miss him so much.

I've never been into biblical stuff, except for when I was a kid and went through a "save yourself" phase around age 11 (my Dad didn't believe....but I think there was something spiritual about his death....he needed peace). I do consider myself spiritual and want to find my inner peace and NEED to. I've been going crazy lately with life's adversities and want to get in-tune with my spiritual side. I need this and I need to know how I get more into it. I feel like it is the answer to my stress....and my husband's.

Thanks for sincere suggestions.

Devilia: that's a horrible thing to say. If that were true....why did he go away then come back? i DID feel my hair stroked and random things between...but it could have just been my greif. Anyway, I want my Dad at peace. Don't be ridiculous.

A. Start reading about things like transpersonal psychology. That is a relatively new field which takes Maslow's self-actualization concept and looks at those "higher" aspects of self development including the spiritual. That might help you get an understanding of issues when people report the paranormal and many "higher" religious experiences without getting into one tradition versus another. Also, consider starting small and find a meditation group. Some are tied to a religious tradition and some not so much. Zen Buddhists usually have something like that and are usually open to the public. And you don't have to become a Buddhist. In the Christian tradition, although some have their foot outside of it, is the Quakers (Religious Society of Friends)--especially Friends General Conference affiliated, or the silent meeting Friends as they meet in silence and many people from strict Christians to non-theists have said they find those experiences very moving. Quakers say we are all subject to guidance from the Inner Light or the Inner Teacher. These folks are also low key and don't press people to join. Unless they decide to do so, but even there you usually have to take the initiative--sort of like the Buddhists.

Depending on where you live that might help. Best to you.
