What are some good places to get bedroom furniture and bedding?

Q. besides urban outfitters, anthropologie, potterybarn(kids and teens), crate and barrel, and cb2. Thanks!

A. Try small antique stores, local church rummage sales, garage sales, craigslist, etc.

How much would it cost to furnish a house/flat?
Q. A Single Male living in a relatively small house/flat in his early twenties, how much would it cost to furnish it from scratch? lets say, I'd need some furniture, bed, bedroom furniture, dining table, a couch, coffee table, laundry appliances, kitchen appliances, and of course TV/entertainment, oh and a small study area with a desk, do you think you could get all this done for under 10k? What are your rough estimates? And did I miss anything important?

A. How to furnish a flat cheap -
- Take your bed you grew up in. (Most parents assume their kids will do that.)
- Take all other objects from your room you grew up with that parents will let you take.
- Network - tell your family and friends you're moving into your first place, and what do they have to donate? Don't forget to ask them to ask others.
- Check out the want ad section of your weekly (not daily) paper for used items for sale. (Dad bought me a dining room table and six chairs - almost antique, but not quite - for $75 and I bought a sofa for $75.)
- Hit FreeCycle.org, learn the rules, find the one for your area, and start asking for what you need.
- Hit your dollar store for cheapo deals on cheap plates, and glassware, plastic-ware, etc.
- Hit flea markets for kitchen appliances and everything in your kitchen.
- If you can get sheets and towels from parents, more power to you, but, if you can't, you're kind of stuck going to K-Mart or WalMart.

And then...spend that $10k for the important stuff - a good computer, a good TV, a good stereo system, and most important - toilet paper and your favorite breakfast beverage. (I prefer Pepsi, but most folks like coffee.) ;)

One other thing, if you can't take your bed with you, buy a NEW box spring and mattress, unless you want to spend that 10 grand on bedbug removal.

Where can I find new Bombay Kids furniture?
Q. I bought twin beds and nightstands for my kids at Bombay. I decided to add more pieces to their bedroom only to find out the store went out of business. Are there any retailers still selling their furniture? I've tried ebay and Craig's list without any luck...
