How do I get my two kids to nap and sleep in the same room?
Q. I have two kids, 20mos and 6mos, and up until now they've both had their own rooms. We are downsizing to save money (1 income) and they are going to have to sleep in the same room. What can we do to make this as successful as possible? The 6mos child wakes up once in the night.
A. I think the only issue is whether your 20 mos old is a light sleeper or not. Because when he/she wakes up in the middle of the night, you'll have to go in and get her/him and put him/her back after nursing/bottle/diaper change... it might be too much for your 20 mos old.. unless he/she sleeps like a log and you know for sure wont hear a thing.
Why dont you put the 6 mos old baby in your room till he/she sleeps thru the night, and then move her/him into a shared bedroom.
Aside from that, maybe you could tell your oldest, that his/her sibling will be sharing the room, and putting some of the baby's stuff in there so as the older child gets used to the idea. It should be fine!

How to make house smell fresh?
Q. We moved into a house that has a musty smell. It is pretty easy to handle in the rooms with windows, but both of the kids bedrooms don't have windows. I have tried cleaning the carpets with everything imaginable-and it doesn't help that my son keeps having potty training accidents. I have tried candles, febreze, etc. I have even put the fan in front of the door to move the air around-no change. Both rooms have ceiling fans and central air.
A. In the supermarket there is a product called Nil ODOUR it is only a tiny bottle but a LITTLE just a few drops goes a long way and this has always worked for problem odours for me and i once had trouble with a tom cat spraying everywhere and this became my best friend and another great idea is little bags of dried lavender over the door handles of the bedrooms or any room for that matter and every time i pass the doors i just scrunch on the bags and the aroma moves through the room gently and leaves a fresh earthy odour, i don't recommend candles just for the fire aspect and lighting and blowing them out only works for a very short time, or put eucalyptuss oil on cotton wool balls and deposit them around the rooms refreshing them as needed.....
What is a good website (or ideas)to get ideas and how-tos on redoing a kids bedroom with stuff you already own?
Q. I have three little girls and am redoing their rooms. I need ideas on how to take things we already have and use them in a new light. Or, if you know a good website...that would be great too!
A. ASk them what colors they like in each room and what is there favorite toy or animal what hey are into and you can get there old clothes and make pillows, add a favor it shirt or outfit sewn on the bed spread pain their furniture. Sheets make great curtains and can cover and old chair, top of a toy box. with 2 sided tape you can take that cute animal or character cut it out of the okd sheet or pajama add it to the wall. 2 sided tapethey have fabric glue or tape for material. Some old wooden toys can be screwed to a board and made a jama hanger or coat.

What are some calming, cheap bedroom decorating ideas?
Q. I am moving soon, and my room will be somewhat small. I have a queen size bed and I am wanting to do something cheap but sensual to it? any ideas? red is kinda my theme but i dont plan to paint the walls (they are white). any tips??
A. Use throw pillows to decorate your bed...the more pillows the better. Get all shapes and sizes. It creates an illusion that will make you want to fall into the middle of them...as if you were a little kid. Its a very comforting thought, sort of like a big hug. I rather enjoy it. Of course if you are married or living with a significant other then "HE" may not go for that as it will seem too girlie or childish to a guy. But hey if its your room...dazzle yourself. Be creative. Buy a few multicolored light bulbs to put in your lamps. Cover the lamp shades with scarves to emit a softer light. You can have all sorts of fun with that. Good luck.
