Children use their rooms for playing games, studying, listening to music, day-dreaming and what not! In this post, we will share a few quick tips on designing a kid’s room and also give you some inspiration to work with.

Tips for Designing a Kid’s Room

1. Talk with the child for getting his/her opinion about what their room should look like.

2. Children use the room for a variety of purposes. So it would be ideal if the room is designed to be multi-functional with play area, reading space, entertainment space, etc.

3. Keep safety a priority. If for example, the child’s room is next to stairs, make sure the stairs have railings. Keep the furniture clear of the doorway and install a night light in the room.

4. Ensure enough storage space for toys, clothing and other stuff that kids treasure. Though clutter may be a matter of opinion, try assigning a place for everything.

5. Bring in a surprise element! For example, kids love secret spaces! Try to fit one in if the room layout allows you. <img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Probably a lot of plush toys, bunk beds, colors and small furniture. These elements are all here, in this fresh collection from Sergi, an Italian artist with a strong passion for design. However, there is more to this interiors than that. The color themes, the beautiful desks and the exquisite arrangements express attitude and personality. Vivid and cheerful, these rooms seem to have the power of encouraging creativity, which is why we decided to share them with you.

Colorful Bedroom Decorating Ideas and Pictures for Kids

When I’m writing an inspirational post, a post that people will check especially for images is quite hard to find words to describe that post, but I have to write something, and not just post a few pictures. Now for today I’ve found an Italian furniture manufacturer called Tumidei, that made some really nice bedrooms for kids. Since you’re reading this article, it’s clear your child’s happiness and healthy development are high on your list of priorities, so let’s take a look at these bedroom pictures and who knows maybe one of them will become your kid next bedroom.

Good Ideas For Decorating A Kid's Bathroom

Decorating a bathroom that is used by a child presents its own unique challenges. Unfortunately, most parents have no idea how to decorate kids' bathrooms. This article offer some tips and ideas that parents can use to decorate a kid's bathroom.

A boy's bathroom can be decorated to appeal to his interest in specific passions such as cars, cowboys, bugs, etc. Decorating a bathroom begins with the gender of the child (or children) who will use the bathroom. Similarly, if your child likes Disney cartoons, you can use a bathroom rug that has pictures of their favorite cartoon characters.

Other things that can be used to decoration a child's bathroom includes knobs, waste baskets, tissue dispenser and soap dishes. A Bathroom That Grows With Your Child
Accessories and decorations can be easily replaced as your child's passions change. Bathmats, shower curtains, tumblers, soap dispensers and knobs can be changed to reflect a child's new interests.
Take care to avoid using decorations in your child's bathroom that may be difficult to change.

Bath Time Magic for Kids

Bath time is the perfect opportunity for parents and children to really get to know each other and spend quality time together.
How you view “bath time” is up to you. In many homes, bath time is about as boring as brushing teeth. You, however, can choose to turn bath time into something special, which both you and your child will look forward to every day. For a child, bath time should be a transition between the noisy, busy world of day and the peaceful, cosy world of bed. How do you inject some magic into bath time? Fix a time for baths that works around meals, cooking, welcoming home your spouse, making evening telephone calls and relaxing – and establish that time for both you and your child. Now, to make bath time fun! Bubbles:

Have an assortment of bubble baths suitable for your child. Include basic baby bubble bath and some therapeutic bath salts for energetic, sporty days. Perhaps if your child has been helpful tidying up, they can choose?
We sometimes use an unscented mild bubble bath with the essential oil.
Candle light for special occasions:

This is obviously only suitable for well-supervised bath times – but kids really do love the atmosphere of a candle lit bath. Warm towels and pyjamas:

Especially pampering in the winter months, children love to get out of the bath into a warmed towel and pyjamas! Poetry night:

In our household, every Friday night bath time was poetry night. Bath toys:

Rotate bath toys ruthlessly so that there is always something interesting to play with! Colorful baths:

A few drops of food coloring will transform the bath into something exotic! Keep the bottle well out of children’s reach!
Language night:

A friend used bath time once a week as “language night”, teaching her kids French by listening to French tapes and singing French songs. Any bath toys used that night were objects that could be named in French (plastic vegetables from her child’s shop, plastic boy and girl dolls, and so on).
Whatever you do now to make bath times magic will be repaid a thousand times in memories for you and your children in the future

Bath Time Tips For Babies and Toddlers

Bath time is usually an exciting time for babies and toddlers. Most children love water. 1. Always use a thermometer to test the water. Babies skin is more sensitive than ours is. There are actually toys that test the water for you and will tell you if the water is too hot.

This part of your arm is more sensitive and you will be able to detect if the water will be too warm for your baby.
1. Wash your baby's hair and body when you first put them in the water.
If you wait until your baby is tired of playing or the water has gone cold, then she is not happy and has started fuss. Bath time will become stressful for you and her. Exposing her to getting a little water in her eyes while she is young will get her use to it. Then when she is older, she won't have a fear of getting water in her eyes. Going to a swimming pool with a toddler is a whole lot more fun if your little boy doesn't mind getting splashed.

2. If your baby is anything like mine, she could stay in the bathtub all day long if I let her.
It works great for me! Which is a real danger for babies and toddlers. I hope you try them and that they will help you have a more enjoyable bath time with your little one. My little girl and I also enjoy singing songs at bath time.

3 Steps to Help Avoid Phthalates

New information has been released about phthalates in baby lotions and shampoos. It’s not easy to avoid phthalates. Kids Bath Blog presented several steps to help you avoid using products loaded with phthalates.

You can identify phthalates in some products by their chemical names:
• DBP (di-n-butyl phthalate) and DEP (diethyl phthalate) are often found in personal care products, including nail polishes, deodorants, perfumes and cologne, aftershave lotions, shampoos, hair gels and hand lotions.

• DEHP (di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate or Bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate) is used in PVC plastics, including some medical devices. BzBP (benzylbutyl phthalate) is used in some flooring, car products and personal care products.

• DMP (dimethyl phthalate) is used in insect repellent and some plastics (as well as rocket propellant).

How Safe Is Your Baby's Bubble Bath?

Research shows that everyday chemicals may be putting our kids at risk. One factor is that children are being affected by their exposure to chemicals in many skin care products on the market. If you read the ingredients, you will find many baby bubble bath products contain potentially harmful ingredients. Whatever touches the skin is absorbed to some degree directly into our body.

What factors increase toxicity and how can parents protect children from harm? Our children’s skin is delicate and sensitive. Ingredient to avoid in skin care products is DEA or diethanolamine phthalates.

DEA and phthalates are two of many ingredients used in personal skin care products suspected of causing or contributing to cancer. ONLY purchase baby skin care products for your babies, children, as well as yourself that are “chemical free.” Be an active, aware and educated consumer that shops for products with SAFE ingredients in baby skin care products.

BATH SALTS

What You Need:
• 2 C Epsom Salts
• 1 C Sea Salt or Rock Salt
• 1/4 tsp Glycerine
• Food Colors
• Essential Oils or Perfume
• Jars with Lids/Stoppers

Here's How:
1. Most of the hooded towels available are made from unbleached cotton. Hooded baby or toddler bath towels usually have decorative motifs and ribbons stitched to it. An Organic hooded towel is a perfect gift idea for newborns and kids.

Although readymade hooded towels are easily available you can even choose to make a hooded towel on your own. You could use a regular sized bath towel and a matching hand towel.

Cut in a hand towel in half. If you cut the end of a regular size towel like me, cut it 9-10 inches wide. For the cut beach towel, fold in both sides about 2-3 inches and sew in the flap.

Next, lay out your large beach towel and line up your cut small towel (the hood) on top of the large towel, then pin. Then pin the hood sides together to form a triangle point at the top and sew them together. Make sure you are sewing from the inside, so that the seam is not seen when the child wears the towel.Have fun making these towels, helping your kids stay dry!

Whether you buy off the shelf or choose to make one yourself, you may want to know what is good for your friends or relatives or your own child.

1. The towel cloth should be made from Organic materials as they are good for the health of the baby.
2. The towel should be of cotton terry cloth for faster drying.
3. The ribbon should preferably be a jacquard ribbon as it stitches better with cotton and the risk of frayed ends is minimum.
4. If making at home, choose either towel cloth that sells by the yard or an Organic toddler bath towel material and a hand towel. One hand towel with make two hoods.
Hooded towels can be stitched by hand or with a sewing machine.

Top 8 Bath Toys

Bath toys are so much fun! Make bath time even fun with animal washcloths.

For younger kids, the best bath toys are brightly colored ones they can use in the water. Involve the kids in your quest to buy some good bath toys as well. In time you will have a nice collection of educational bath toys and plenty of things to ensure the kids will be looking forward to their bath each and every time.

1. Blow bubbles. More fun in the bath!

2. Paint on the sides of the bath tub - use shaving foam, bath tub crayons.

3. Add novelty to the bath experience. Freeze one of her bath toys (put some water and the toy in an empty carton and freeze).

How To Find Children's Bath Accessories That Make Bathing Fun

If we were to talk about kid's bath accessories the first thing that will come into your head as you think about is cartoon themes. A lot of the time it will be harder to get a kid to take a bath then to tell him to go play. One way that you can get them to take baths more is to have them play in the bath. This is why having kids bath accessories is good so they can play and be entertained in the bath instead of taking the same old bath every day. You can usually find anything that your kid will want through websites. Every kid's bath theme will come with something like a toothbrush holder, towel racks, shower curtains, hand towels there are just a number of things that you will love about your kids themes and they will like it too. All the different kids themes are going to be an attention grabber whether it is dinosaurs or sponge bob it will always grab the attention of whoever enters the kids bathroom.

You are probably thinking my kid does not care the way their bathroom looks well that is wrong because that is where they play at night in their bath.

Bath and Potty Guide

Bath and potty will help you train your lovely kids, how to take bath and how to use the toilet.

Crying spells and temper tantrums can occur when trying to potty train your kid. Scented Bath Salts
When I want to relax, I take a bath with these bath salts. Kids love to watch them color the bath water and they're not irritating like commercial kids' bath products can be.

Ingredients:

2 Cups Sea Salt, Kosher Salt or Rock Salt
20 Drops Essential Oil
Add the essential oil to the salt. (Don't use paper towels, because they'll absorb the scented oil.) If you like colored bath salts, use a couple of TBSPS of beet juice, or non-toxic food coloring to the salts with the essential oil. You can find non-toxic food coloring at Health Food Stores. Scented Shower Gel

Ingredients:
1 Cup Water
1 ½ Cups Liquid Glycerine Soap, Scented (Dr. Bronner's or any natural brand)
2 TBSP Finely Milled Sea Salt

Natural Food Coloring (optional)
Add liquid soap to water. Simple Soothing Milk and Honey Bath
2 Cups of Dry Milk Powder (I use organic)
Mix milk and honey powder in large bowl. If your decorating ideas include furniture, accessories and other expensive decorations, make sure to mix and match the items before placing all of your chosen items in the room. Something that many people make the mistake of doing is choosing to decorate their bathrooms with several different kinds of patterns. Having too many patterns in a bathroom can become a confusing look, so a bathroom decorating tip is to decide on no more than two patterns for the bathroom, and make sure that they match each other.

Some Theme Ideas

For instance, if you love the beach, you can have a beach theme in your bathroom. Keep in mind that no matter what type of bathroom decorating theme you select, it is a good idea to keep your floors, walls and countertops neutral, and push the theme with the accents and accessories. For people who like gadgets, following the futuristic bathroom decorating trend can be easily achieved with some very tech-savvy items; some of these items are the automatic bath, nifty shower heads, and even a smart toilet. Any amount of different shower heads are available including the adjustable shower heads and double showers. To create a calm oasis for yourself, start by decorating the bathroom with lighter colors. Lighter colors make the bathroom appear to have more space. If you do not have an allergy to it, keep the theme of the bathroom being a calming place by adding lavender scents to the bathroom.

Decorating Kids Bathrooms

Kids' bathrooms can be dolled up in everything from a wonders of the sea theme to a pretty bathroom that is fit for a princesses. Some popular children's themes include fantasy gardens, ducks, fish, and jungle themes. Following contemporary bathroom decorating trends while maintaining individual taste and style can be achieved with a little research and great imagination. Hunt through some stores or catalogues to see what bathroom decorating themes might be readily available. Building on these ideas are sure to help anyone create the bathroom of their dreams.

Suave Kids Bath Sets Sold at Wal-Mart Recalled for Choking, Other Hazards

The CPSC and Almar Sales Co., of New York, NY are recalling about 11,000 Suave Kids Bath Sets which were sold at Wal-Mart. If your decorating ideas include furniture, accessories and other expensive decorations, make sure to mix and match the items before placing all of your chosen items in the room.

Kids’ Bath Robes

If you are shopping for kids’ bath robes then get ready to have fun. The key things to remember when designing kids’ bathrooms are safety, accessibility, storage, and having a little fun.

User-friendliness and safety are first on the list of kids’ bathroom ideas. Storage is another item that is foremost in a kid’s lavatory. A hanging bathtub organizer can hold tub supplies and bath toys without sacrificing shelf or cabinet space. Making kids more self-sufficient in their bathroom will make everyone’s life easier. A kid-friendly toilet seat will make unsupervised restroom trips a reality.
